Masanosuke Ono

True, but I suppose there's a chance he would want to focus on FS/international competitions rather than waste time with college wrestling and considers NLWC the best place to do that (and wants to continue his education while he trains, too). The odds are definitely getting better by the day that he'll be on the PSU roster next year, though.
Well it's seems from the Olympic results that Japan knows what they are doing in free style.

So he’s registered at PSU just to pick up a few credits while he trains freestyle with NLWC? 🧐

I wouldn’t rule out the possibility. But I could see him wanting to be around the team as much as possible, learning from each other, grinding every day. Maybe even just for one year would be beneficial.

He can do the Kyle Snyder schedule back when he was a Buckeye. Wet his beak with about 10-15 folkstyle matches while competing in free as his schedule dictates.

For those who haven’t seen him, watch his matches at Worlds. You won’t be sweating how he matches up with Drake Ayala

I don’t think anyone is sweating matchups, Vito was a tier above the current field, and Ono walked Vito like a dog. The Crookham vs. Ono match would be fun though.
I hear you. Mat wrestling is still a thing. That was just my brushback pitch to the Negadelphians on here who would bitch about winning the lottery because of the tax hit

There’s not many wrestlers at 133 who I would consider a hammer on top. Nasir is the only one that comes to my mind.

My guess would be his clock started when he enrolled in college in Japan. I believe he's in his 3rd year now. Which would give him 2 years of eligibility
Until he does a Steveson and takes an Olympic RS after the fact! 🤔

Assuming you are correct I would then have to assume based on the Stevenson/Ferrari eligibility model that he gets an automatic ORS year for 2024 which should give him a 3rd year.

10 to 15 matches is a full feed schedule anymore.

Well, there is a redshirt year and an Olympic year, you know, the Steveson plan.
