Matt Sarzyniak predicts PSU-WVU to be 3:30 on CBS

Due to living out of the northeast it has been many years since I've been able to attend a game at Beaver Stadium; but am getting together with old friends to hopefully attend this one.

When would be the best time of the year to get tickets? Right now they're going for roughly $250 per seat on ticketmaster and if that's the going rate so be it, but just thinking it might come back to reality over the summer.

I’d wait until tickets go on sale in the summer. It’s a nice renewal of an old rivalry game but I don’t think it will have the high demand jacking up prices that much.

Not for PSU fans but WVU fans are all over this. If PSU doesn't show up, the Mountaineers certainly will.

They are going to be eating ramps and putting cole slaw on their hotdogs!

Love Matt Sarz, but this is just his opinion. Realistically, we can be sure that PSU/WVU will be on one of the broadcast networks - FOX at noon, CBS at 3:30, NBC at 7:30 - but it seems up in the air as to which one.

is this a new thing now, like since the demand for predicting games has been filled now we have people predicting kickoff times?

Matt Sarz has been doing this for a very long time (15+ years). This is not new. And he's offered very good insight into TV windows and how the networks schedule football and basketball.

Clearly it's his opinion, but given his long expertise, he has a pretty good chance of being right, and if you've followed him for a long time, as I have, he's very far more often right than wrong vis-a-vis PSU start times.

The biggest complaint about our start times, at least for me but I doubt I'm alone, is the explosion of six day holds. If Pat Kraft can do something about this, more power to him. But IMO, the schools have given over so much power to the TV people that they are in essence in charge of game times.

Think about it for a second: Penn State has little control over when its football team plays at its on-campus facilities, certainly less control than some remote network honcho or scheduler, than anyone at PSU. Probably only ND has that sort of power anymore. They say when they are going to play and NBC says, "OK." For as much as I despise them, they have the juice to do that. (And it's another reason to hate them as well!)

Don't get me started on the basketball scheduling!

This is gonna be a great game to be at. WVU fans are a lot fun. I will go just for the tailgating if the weather cooperates.
Yep...that is the Saturday before labor day so a long weekend. it may, however, conflict with other activities. If only it was in Dublin!
