Now that Trace's collegiate career is winding down, how much playing time should Stevens get the rest of the way?
What changed?
Has anyone heard how his knee is doing? Those types of injuries are more troublesome the morning after. Is he even practicing?Trace’s career winding down should have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with ANYONE’S playing time.
BUT
like every other position (at least in theory), you play until someone better can take your place.
Trace has been a very ave QB the last three games. He’s due for a good, very good or maybe even an elite game.....hopefully this Sat will be THE game he and all of us have been looking for!

What does that have to do with the price of beans? Now that Trace's collegiate career is winding down, how much playing time should Stevens get the rest of the way?
And, my $0.02 worth is this; the heir apparent shouldn't automatically be Stevens. Clifford will battle him over the winter and spring ball for the position. Just MHO, but I think Clifford will offer a serious challenge. May the better man win.

Tommy Stevens should play as soon as he proves that he’s a better option than Trace. I haven’t seen that yet - not even close.
Hotmetal posted. That is the only thing I can think of.What changed?
I believe he is no longer playing due to shoulder issues. Is Zembec (spelling) still on the roster?
Suspect someone should have to shoot Trace and put him down to keep him from playing this week. (That said, have not yet read or listened to Franklin’s PC today......)
It was extremely close coming out of camp the one year.
Stevens has never been given an equal opportunity to prove it in games.
No wonder why it is not even close.
Your analogy is skewed sir.
Respectfully.
Holy $hit, I didn't know Brady was graduating. Now that Tom Brady's NFL career is winding down, Brian Hoyer should be getting the majority of the reps for the Patriots.
But it wasn't the same coming out of camp - TM won.
As a result, he gets most reps in practice, why should the guy getting fewer 1st team reps be given equal opportunity? Only one can be the starter.
This topic is like using a fullback
and QB under center. It’s Trace. He’s PS’s best QB ever .
The usual amount which is none to some.
If you take coaches word then maybe listen to him when he speaks of Trace and give it a restAh, CJF SAID it was very close.
I'll take coaches word.
And, while only one can be the starter, of course the guy with the fewer reps would not be given an equal opportunity; all things being equal.
You keep justifying your belief with slanted logic to support your premise.
Skewed sir.
Are you serious? This absurd myth college coaches write off seasons or play for next year is right up there with the Unicorn. Now that Trace's collegiate career is winding down, how much playing time should Stevens get the rest of the way?
Different era and you know that.
Ty Detmer is BYU's Career and Single Season passing leader yet he can't hold a candle to Jim McMahon when it comes to great QB's.
I'll take Chuck Burkhardt, Chuck Fusina, John Shaffer, Kerry Collins and Todd Blackledge any day over Trace McSorley.
Skewed, how about context. It’s 2018, how in heaven could Fusina or Burkhardt( magnificent game managers ) or a lead foot like Shaffer ever effectively run this offense? I know it may pain you but the era of fullback plunges, tight line splits and living and dying by your defense and field position are over. And before the wolves attack, no one admired Joe more than me. Blackledge and Collins were great PSU quarterbacks, and I loved them, but I doubt their effectiveness today would be as significant as it was “ back in the day “.Different era and you know that.

I agree. Grant it, it’s a very small sample, but TS doesn’t appear to be a terribly accurate passer compared to Clifford. I know his teammates love him, but I really hope the staff makes it a legitimate competition next spring and doesn’t just hand the reigns over to Tommy just because he waited his turn. And, my $0.02 worth is this; the heir apparent shouldn't automatically be Stevens. You know Glove....... when other folks said you were a F^cking Moron, I used to defend you.
But if that’s your take, from now on I think I’ll just tell them that I don’t think you F^ck.
How many threads can possibly be made with the same stupid argument.
Enjoy watching a warrior carry a severely flawed team on his back for the rest of the year then start worrying that Tommy can actually beat out Clifford
Would you take them with the same OLine Trace has had?I'll take Chuck Burkhardt, Chuck Fusina, John Shaffer, Kerry Collins and Todd Blackledge any day over Trace McSorley.
