I don’t think I supported your opinion that he is in trouble. I firmly believe he can win a national title based solely on his ability to ride and turn guys. He lost to Bresser but has improved since and was able to beat Nato in a similar type match. If Spencer gets the first takedown, nobody is going to beat him. Time will tell if I’m right.
You're saying exactly what I'm saying but you're simply too stubborn to admit it. When I say Spencer makes his living from the top position, what I'm saying is that is how he wins matches.
Did he take Bresser down? No. Did Bresser take him down? Yes. Did Spencer ride out Bresser? No. He lost.
Did Spencer take down NaTo? No. Did NaTo take down Spencer? Yes. Did Spencer ride out NaTo for a period? Yes. Spencer won.
We've seen that Spencer is very vulnerable on his feet. He's not there yet. NaTo, Suriano, and Cruz are all better than Spencer on their feet and if that's where Spencer has to win the match, he is in trouble. If those guys can get out from underneath and Spencer doesn't get the riding time point or NF, and has to spend more time on his feet with those guys, he is going to be in trouble.
Spencer Lee makes his living from the top position. That's where he wins his matches. If he doesn't spend time on top, he is in trouble against NaTo, Suriano, and Cruz because all three are more likely to take him down than he is to take them down. We saw what happened when he couldn't ride a guy of Bressers caliber. Now imagine if he can't ride guys a lot better in NaTo, Suriano, and Cruz.
