I think the coaches know what they have with Geno. With Shak, I think they want to find out if 174, makes the gas tank issues go away and if they do, the coaches would have little motivation to pull Hall's shirt.

Great discussion guys. Been out of the loop, but I did hear the press conference. A couple of my observations/impressions/etc.

Cael's comments about Jimmy have purpose. "Lighting a fire" may be too strong, but they are definitely intended to motivate. Must break through the subtle, calm demeanor sometimes to understand Cael's comments.

My opinion about Hall is the same as everyone else's. True, he left the door open, but will only pull the redshirt if it's a difference maker for National's. We'll all do the same thing the coaches will do...wait and see how Shak or Geno perform. I'd be shocked to see the RS pulled, if it is at all, before January.

rather be humble .......but since I rank Fr, PSU is the NCAA leaders in my Spyker-Dunkej01 D1 preseason rankings. legit shot at 10 AA this year. This has nothing to do with your post roar, just where i decided to jump into the discussion.

Mark Hall is the caged lion, keep him the dark, feed him mat town, binghamton, midlands .......red meat to survive the year and turn him out next year.

Familiarity and great defensive wrestling if it's true. But didn't you guys say brill beat Nickal last year

I didn't say anything to that extent. . . . I have a grand total of zero sources within the program.

I was just asking your take because you seem to know more about Shak than the average fan.

Rasheed - still cutting a significant amount of weight. Cardiovascular as match goes on is still more stressed than others.

Not you but I just remember a few saying that that did happen last year. I've known him since he was a kid.

Can't help but think there's lots of "early season unknowns" in play here.

For the PSU weight classes that are contested, especially those that are close, I suspect the process will go on long into the season. Not unusual for our coaching staff, as they want to see how the guys perform under the lights, not just against each other.
