Match Thread Michigan State Dual Thread

Byers audio and headphones on one computer and BTN+ on second computer with big screen- how do you sync them ???
Thanks
If your in lionvision thru the app, you can pause it. Don’t know if you can if accessed otherwise.

At my house, Lionvision is always ahead of the video. So I only have to pause Lionvision until the video catches up. But if the video is ahead of the audio, then just pause it until the audio catches up.

It’s just simply pausing whichever is ahead until the other catches up. Easiest to do at start whistle IMO.

The biggest challenge is getting a "pausible" feed of Byers. For me, Lionvision on my iPhone in Safari (not the app) works. Usually--Byers is ahead of video feed. Then, you listen for a whistle to start action, and pause until you see the ref raise his hand on the same whistle. Works like a charm every time. It's amazing how audible whistles are--even at nationals.
Many Thanks-will give uit a go next match

Finally got to watch to OT in the Haines match. He didn't return Saldate to the mat for a long time, so I'm not sure I can complain about that call--but for the 1,000th time, UTB is a TERRIBLE product.

How's this for an idea. Regulation RT becomes criterea, but you get the 2 min SV period, and if the guy who has criterea doesn't yet have a stall warning, he gets one at the start of SV.

Usually, my rule ideas get torn apart pretty quick--so go ahead tell me why this wouldn't work.
It's not a terrible idea, but won't work.

The stall-out periods are a terrible product because the expectation for top is to maintain position -- which at any other time is stalling. Therefore top is comfortable knowing he'll never get called for stalling (except rule-specified such as the 5 count), no matter how much he just lays there or how often he runs bottom out of bounds.

The best way to fix those periods is to shoot them into the sun. Short of that, make them a full minute each, so that top has a real expectation to score and there is real time for a takedown after an escape.

I'm also using a 2 computer setup, watching & listening in Firefox browsers. Just pause Byers to catch up the video, or pause the video to catch up Byers. If you don't get it synced exactly right away, listen for Byers to call out the time & watch the clock, or catch it at the start of the 2nd period of the 1st match. It's not that hard & once you get it synced, it's good for the entire match.

can't say MM score was close the kid caught one move the rest all MM!!
True, but he had a couple other moments that didn’t result in points. Made Mesenbrink work. Your point is 100% accurate; I’m just also giving credit to Fish that wrestled him when others have retreated. It was a great match.

I was hoping you would tell me why my idea wouldn’t work. But I don’t think you have yet. My proposal is to eliminate the ride-outs entirely too. 😀

Edited a couple of times because I'm an idiot and needed to hide the evidence:
Let's say Levi had 0:04 sec RT advantage in regulation--that gives him criterea, so if SV ends w/ no scoring, Levi wins. They go to SV, and if Haines didn't have a stall warning, he'd start SV w/ one. You could do the same for the Saldate too or not--I don't care. No 30 second stall-offs needed.

I'd like see them just start OT in neutral with no clock. First takedown wins, however long it takes. No rideouts at all. That could get interesting.

Re: Lionvision commercials during matches: They had to have those because there was no halftime for some reason when they usually run them.
Correct. And, there is generally a media timeout after every two matches. There were no such wrestling interruptions in this contest.

Let me get this straight, Ref called Stalling on Haines when he was on top during the second set of wideouts (with 1 sec left)???????? Do I really have that correct????
I hate it when the wascawwy wef does that!

Whole lot of people have gleefully outed themselves as not listening to Byers today.
Outed themselves? Like there is something wrong with listening to BTN+? LOL.

The student announcers can actually be sort of fun to listen to, at least up to a point. But things got out of hand at the end of the Haines/Saldate bout, when they just started making sh!t up.

Jeff Byers is the best wrestling announcer in the nation, in any medium.

Oddly pleased with close matches for Levi and MM (well, closer, anyway, plus a deficit to erase). Both Spartans lost in blood round last year, so potential for upsets definitely there. Overcoming match adversity is just more proof how special these two Lions are. Can’t wait to watch.

It's astonishing that MM has progressed to the point already where a MD decision against a highly ranked dangerous opponent felt like a "close" win. MM = Mr. Fantastic already.

I was listening to Ironhead .... He goes all out during these matches and leaves it all at the microphone.

Except when calling AB's matches. Aaron has become so dominant that Byers now notes stuff like, "Aaron with his 5th takedown of the period," with about the same gusto as one might mention the traffic light just turned green. 😂

Yup. Lionvision is the only audio feed That will pause for me.

It wouldn't have been the worst thing to happen had Levi lost. He's wrestling slightly tighter than he did last year, and this match might actually help him wrestle more freely than what he has been wrestling so far this year.
When the season is over, you’re going to find that Levi is not 100% healthy, and hasn’t been for quite some time. And yet, he’s still capable of winning a national title.

35-0 with three backups. Not too shabby.

Haines match was nuts. Mesenbrink match was good; a few things for Mitchell to work on. Another solid performance by Davis. Nice win for Cochran. A few guys didn’t look their best but ten wins is ten wins.
With his aggressiveness and attack rate, MM is occasionally gonna run into some good counters against better guys like Fish. This happened to Nolf occasionally as well.
At no time did I feel MM was in trouble against Fish. But credit to Fish - he is a tough opponent and really made MM work for the major. Both guys were pretty exhausted after that bout.
