Michigan's got their QB.

How much did you watch Bama last year? Our offense simplifies things for QB--most, not all, of the time it's two reads and a lot of that is pre-snap recognition. He'll also never be under center so he won't have to be reading a defense while dropping back. If you think out our offense is more complex then we just disagree. Hurts is perfectly suited for the RPO and bring one thing Trace doesn't. Homerun ability with his legs.
2 reads? HUH? This is JoMo at Fordham , you tell me how many reads he makes on this play, pre and post snap.

Admittedly don't know a lot about Patterson. But just looked at his stats from the last 2 years. Honestly I have no idea how you can claim he's an all-B1G caliber QB based on what he's shown so far. If he's all-B1G caliber, then McSorley is 1st team AA caliber.
Based on his play, not perception, he may achieve it.

People love to sleep on them here. Nobody here was calling for PSU to win the B!G 2 years ago, hell we weren't supposed to finish higher than 4th. UM was young last year all over the place and they along with PSU, OSU, and MSU all have a shot at winning the B!G east which is pretty much winning the B!G at this point.

I agree with 99.9% of your post. The one thing I am taking a wait and see attitude on is the Michigan offensive scheme. Michigan has a new OC so he might be able to convince Harbaugh it is time for an update but if he doesn't and Michigan still tries to play offense like they did in 1974 under Bo, I can't see them finishing any higher than tied for third in the East. That said, they have a boat load of talent and could be the surprise team this season.

Agree, they need to adjust the scheme. I see it as a wide open 4 team race to be honest.

That offense you speak of has won 28 games in three years and beaten PSU 2 out of 3 years. The Michigan fan base is very much looking forward to Penn State coming to Ann Arbor this year. There is only one team with more overall talent than Michigan in the BIG 10, Ohio State, NOT Penn State.

And if anyone thinks Jake Rudock would have been drafted into the pros if he had not been coached up by Harbaugh or stayed at Iowa they are kidding themselves. Franklin certainly could not have brought in Jake Rudock and coached him up to the level that Harbaugh did.

PSU does have the best QB coming back in McSorley (based on his natural talent not coaching by Franklin) but lost a lot in Barkley, your TE, your top receiver and your OC. I can not wait until Franklin brings his team into AA this year.

Don Brown has said the PSU loss last year is on him and I am sure he is excited to have his defense get another shot at McSorley and the PSU offense.

That offense has led Michigan to a 9-8 record in their last 17 games. When they lose their season opener to ND they will be at a .500 record since Jimmah coached up one of the most talented and experienced teams in the country to a 3rd place finish in the BIG Ten East. They even managed to lose 3 out of their last four games that year.

I am glad you, and Dom, are excited to get another crack at PSU's offense. If you can keep us below 30 it would be an achievement.

Yawn, JimBob, having a QB drafted late 6th round onto the practice squad is impressive. Almost as impressive as the annual 3rd place divisional finish, especially 2016 with 11 players drafted. Jimmah sure is one hell of an expensive tour guide/travel agent.

Comedy Gold!
If you look at Jimjim’s posting history, it’s filled with portentous predictions of doom for us, how the Michigan fans are thirsting for revenge (as if geeks in the stands play any role in a game), etc. He’s quite dramatic, but boring at the same time

You think Ohio State is the only team with more talent than Michigan. How do you explain all your loses to Michigan State? I guess then your guys just simply underachieve or perhaps you might be getting out-coached?

I understand that fan bases "talk up" their team and love to throw dirt at their rivals and all, but in what realm has jimjim been living to remotely feel comfortable saying anything he wrote?

Penn State could fall from grace and only win 6 games next year, but it doesn't appear likely. Nothing that I, or anybody sane for that matter, have seen indicates Michigan is competing for the title next season no more than Indiana is. (Aka, everyone is still 0-0)

Harbaugh has vastly underachieved for the yearly expectations and projections. Optimism is great and all, but a 2 loss season would be their ceiling at this point until they get on the field and compete for 14 weeks.

Franklin better pack the passports because we could get to AA and see a handwritten note from old Jim at the stadium gates that says "Game moved to Collesium", and he ain't talkin' LA.
