Wrestling Mitchell Mesenbrink Commits To Penn State

My understanding from sniffing around is that @pish69 is barking up the right tree. Now, maybe he decides he wants to be at PSU and that’s that. But PSU isn’t one to get into bidding wars.
I just read @Pish69’s post. I think I get it. I will agree that my original thought on Nagao being in the portal was that it was about NIL. I really think he wants to stay at Minny, but he needs someone to entice him to do so. And, that is not meant as anything against him. He understands the opportunity to capitalize.

Yup! I won’t begrudge any kid for making money off their abilities while they can, especially in a sport like wrestling. You’re just not likely to find it at PSU without first performing on the mat.

@bniccols has already declared the playing field is now level. How does he explain the last 2 days? Besides AG and Cannon I would say we the inn is full. They may get our left overs or the ones that clearly don't pass our non wrestling standards.
Cael be like:

Im not sure. The kid that gave the interview to Bausch did not appear to put money in front of all else. Of course he could have been bull sh..ting everyone if he is that kind of kid we don't want him anyhow. Kind of seems unfair if we do get him lmfao

This just in, a grand jury was shown evidence today of PSU participating in human athletic trafficking. It rumored the wrestling room is a real sweat shop.
Speaking of, if you are looking for a new podcast follow and a more than worthy outlet for some of your disposable income, please consider helping out these real life super heros.

From the immortal lyrics from The Call, The Walls Came Down:

They stood there laughing
They're not laughing anymore
GREAT song…although Flo guys would trash it In favor of something hip hoppy. :(

Social media is full of people crying about how it's not fair that PSU has "all of the talent." I swear, for a supposed "tough guy" sport there sure are a lot of whiners out there. PSU can only field a ten-man team so there has got to be a ton of talent at other schools. Shouldn't these other programs work on getting better instead of crying about PSU being too good? The fact is that Cael & Co. have the secret sauce but it's not their fault nobody else can figure out the recipe.

Oklahoma State had a prodigious recruiting class a few years ago.

Ohio State had a prodigious class last year.

Iowa took possibly the best high school wrestler (I know I know he lost his last match in high school) in Pennsylvania history 6 years ago.

Other schools are getting guys, and Penn State isn’t getting all of them. Other team fans need to ask themselves what their own coaches/teams are doing to not keep up. Same advice I give Penn State football fans who whine about the SEC and the Buckeyes. Not their job to let you beat them every other year. Go get better and expect it from your leadership or go get new leadership.

and the thing is, there actually comes a point where the success becomes so self-reinforcing that you become the only buyer in a buyers market

Ah... Isn't that Lar's job?
Lar's job is over, now that the 5-year contract is signed. He successfully used the 3" binder to convince Iowa to set aside "dark money" some 6+ years ago. Gotta love 'merica!

Speaking of... seriously, best of luck to Spencer moving forward. I wish him only the best health and well-being. If he represents Team USA at Worlds or the Olympics, I will be pulling for him.

It's tough to fall short of one's goals. I hope he keeps in his heart that the journey is as important as the destination, if not more so.

I'm waiting on word from Todd Connor if it's still a Great Day To Be A Hawkeye fan...
Hey JTS, your mentoring program is working.
I went over to GIA yesterday and was reading their B Truax thread. A couple of knuckleheads were petitioning that Keuter could come in and wrestle 197. Their reasoning was his walk around weight was only 225. Laxhawk chimed in that AJ Ferrari's walk around weight was 220 to 225. I couldn't help myself but reply, " Is that with or without shackles?"
I did get a like from 3 of our guys and 1 of theirs. It probably went over like a fart in church though.

Good one!

Also, apparently Iowa Football doesn't have a weight training program.

Lol. That was a good one!

Here’s some schadenfreude sustenance. Unfortunately the comments were deleted because that’s where the true idiocy lies:

https://www.blackheartgoldpants.com...29/1284010/welcome-back-cael-1-iowa-wrestling
"Cael Sanderson, the other Iowa State wrestling legend to leave them in the lurch to coach a BXI school, brought his new team, the #13 Penn State Nittany Lions, to Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Friday night to take on #1-ranked Iowa. How'd it go? Well, just like every other time a Cael Sanderson-coached team took on a Tom Brands-coached Iowa team: he lost. This time, in fact, he didn't just lose -- he got his a** straight up handed to him and Iowa got its 56th straight dual meet victory. And just like it did when he coached Iowa State, it felt gooood. If beating Cael ever stops being fun -- nah, f*** that, it'll never stop being fun."

Imagine how much fun it would be now that it almost never happens.

TnT are now asking the BIG to never put PSU on their schedule ever again!
