Worse than music during the matches, did you listen to the Iowa v Mich dual? The PA announcer blasted each wrestler's life history, droning on and on during the first half of the first period . Loud enough to challenge the on air commentary. Very distracting, possibly even to the wrestlers.

The Rec Hall crowd has a decent amount of older fans at every match. I think this adds to the quiet atmosphere as these veteran wrestling fans tend to not get very worked up. I've heard it gently referred to as a "knowledgable crowd." Rec Hall could be much more intimidating if it were louder - I have to agree with Cael!!

The first fan to be vocal during the entire match in Rec Hall is going to stand out like Robin Ficker. It's going to take a group effort. I've got a feeling that the music is going to be doing the heavy work for a long time. Lol

I listened to the talk Cael had about music. Seems the team and the staff like it. His view point was this is a sporting event and there should be noise. He was funny about it. I am on board with music as long as that is what the Team/Cael want.

Weird because at PSU v Mich the arena announcer only spoke briefly, in fact @hlstone didn’t even remember hearing him.

Well, every time they pan the crowd at PSU matches, I see a sea of grey hair, likely not so different from the demographics of this board I suspect.

Rather than a white out to build the energy, maybe a free red bull with every ticket.

As for the other end of the spectrum. How about those Iranian fans? How would you like to sit directly in front of one of those maniacle fans blowing the horn for an entire tournament?
