My, how far and how quickly oregon has fallen. Playing in the Las Vegas Bowl today.

It isn't that long ago that oregon was a regular in the top ten or even the top five under chip kelly. Now they are 7-5 and are playing in the Las Vegas Bowl, well before the real bowl games start. Of course, Taggart just left oregon for fsu.

Who will oregon hire to replace Taggart? I would think they would be willing to throw some money at a big name in an effort to get back where they were under kelly.

(Boise St. leads oregon 7-0 in the 1st quarter, but oregon just intercepted the Broncos in the end zone.)

14-0, Boise. oregon intercepted Boise in the end zone, but the ducks fumbled on the ensuing possession. Boise just scored on a long touchdown with a receiver who was wide open.

Here's something bizarre. Some oregon player who is sitting out today's bowl game before the nfl draft was the one to try to rally the team before the opening kickoff. The team circled around him while he yelled his head off. I'm sure that was inspiring.

Oh, oregon just fumbled again. Boise recovered.

And there's really no reason for Oregon to fall that far....they still have great facilities. Maybe Kelly was better at paying his players.

Hell it happens to the best Bob. Take two years ago for example...I fell twice down the steps, body slamed the foyer and head butted the front door. Thankfully both the foyer floor or the door sustained no damage, for my sake the dear wife said.

Good stuff, step. Glad you're doing well. :)

Sort of a regression to the mean for Oregon. I never really associated them with the so called blue bloods of college football.

I never thought of Oregon in any way for football (or anything else) until Penn St played them in the Rose Bowl in 1994. They were totally off the radar nationally.

When the bowl matchups were announced, I remember thinking PSU will get no credit for beating lowly Oregon but Nebraska will be given all types of credit for beating a subpar Miami team (and likely beat out PSU for the national title).

1000 uniform combinations.

Zero National Championships.

And I’ll add because it’s almost obligatory. #39 on all time wins list. 4 wins less than.....

......

Rutgers.

Oregon had been down a bit. Every single major program has had periods of in which they struggled, and some have lasted for a decade.

Agree that it may be difficult to reach the same heights they once did, but I wound count them out just yet.

That's 142.86 combinations per win this year....awesome. They're working on having more turnovers in this game than wins in this season.

And right on queue Oregon with a pick 6. 24-0 Boise.

That's what the zero on their uniforms stands for--zero championships. Their fanbase has little in the way of humility. Please feel free to use that crack if you find an Oregon fan popping off about anything.

I was at an Oregon vs UDub game a few years ago in Seattle. Was very surprised at how arrogant and obnoxious the Duck fans were. They taunted the UDub fans all game and never let up.

I think "look at the money we spent on facilities!" is actually code for "we built a locker room and got new weights, but our bag men dropped off some duffel bags at the best recruits door step."

I couldn’t touch anything, and I had nothing else to do.
Bob - You could have gotten busy on your workbench creating the revolutionary reciprocating tongs...

Oregon was way ahead of the curve for facilities when Nike plowed all the money in. But over the past decade, everybody else caught up so what they have isn't that special anymore. Say what you want about Chip, but he was crazy innovative as an offensive mind, especially for college football. Perfect storm they had. Will be tough for them ever get back to that sustained level of success. Throw in an elite Petersen at Washington now competing hard for recruits in that area and another issue.

Exactly .... you need facilities to help in recruiting but bottom line is you need a coach. People can say what they want about Chip but he had a great offensive mind. Many NFL teams are still using plays he brought into the NFL and he will have UCLA in the top 15 in a few years. Not sure about Mario at Oregon I thought they would go for a bigger name. If this doesn't pan out really going to set Oregon back.

Wasn't Nike's money, it was Phil Knight's. There is a difference.
