Name a team that has dominated a sport similar or better than 8 out of 9 years?

John?! Did she transform?

Yeah, she wanted to wear the pants in that family!

Kudos to you, you had a Dynasty post in another thread before I had it in this thread. Great minds think alike.....ours do too. And yours is ahead of mine so far today! :)

Well, KU winning 14 consecutive regular season Big 12 basketball championships is pretty good.

The streak just ended this year.....hopefully PSU’s streak continues going forward.

Same sport... Iowa wrestling won 8 out of 9 from 1991 and 200 and 10 out of 11 from 1976 and 1986.

But, yeah, it’s a fun time to be a Penn State wrestling fan.

A lot of that is lack of an equal rival in the Big 12... and that isn’t national championships

Kenyon won 31 straight DIII men's swimming championships (1980-2010)

There has been a few that have been mentioned. I also believer our Nittany Lion Womens Soccer Team has won either the regular season, or conference tournament championship every year going back to 1998 - except for maybe one or two years.

Regular season champions (or co-champions) 15 straight years from 1998 to 2012. We also won it 3 straight years from 2014-16, so that's 18 out of 19 years.

Alabama football of course. If you make the finals every year and win half then that is awesome!!!

PSU Fencing?

Not exactly We were really good for a stretch (national champs 6 years in a row from 1995-2000) but wouldn't put it at a dynasty level. We have 13 championships in 29 years. Notre Dame is second with 6 but they have been slightly better recently (three championships in the last decade to our two). However, the NCAAs are going on as we speak. With matches a little over half completed, it's neck and neck between Columbia and PSU with Notre Dame trailing a bit in third. With luck, we could win our third this decade and tie ND.

Trinity College squash. 252 straight match victories, thirteen straight national championships, seventeen of the last 20.

We didn't have any luck.

Columbia won but PSU edged out ND for second.

The individual championships are going on right now. PSU sophomore Zara Moss, who placed second last year in the women's saber, will try to improve on that as she goes for gold in the final match of the championships. That match will be live on ESPN3 in just a couple of minutes.

You can watch here.

Unfortunately, Kara came up just short, losing 15-13 in the championship bout.

We haven't matched Iowa yet. They had 2 long runs 11/12 from 1975-1986 and 9/10 from 1991-2000. Still this is an incredible run no matter what happens next year. I think we have a good chance to keep it going at least another year. Hall and Joseph will be back. Nick Lee and RBY return as well. We may have Cassar and/or Shak for a 6th year. Conel says he is coming. Our lightweights should be better than they've been. We may have more depth even if we don't end up with 5 finalists again.

Concord De La Salle won 151 games in a row in Cali. Massillon Ohio HS football won Ohio Championship 24 times and has been national champion 9 times.

Maple Heights Ohio HS wrestling (Mike Milkovich coach):
From 1949 to 1977, he coached the Mustangs to 16 undefeated seasons, 10 state championships, nine state runner-up finishes and had 37 individual state champions. His teams' overall record in dual meets was 262-25-2 (a .912 winning percentage).

Milkovich also guided the Mustangs to a record 103 consecutive dual meet victories from 1963-72 (still a record)."

Later edit: "But at the end of the day, [Lakewood] St. Edward took its traditional place atop the Division I State Wrestling Tournament mountain for the 33rd time and the sixth consecutive year – the eighth in the last 9 years – by outscoring Cincinnati LaSalle by eight points – 194.5-186.5." http://highschoolsports.cleveland.c...-win-33rd-state-div-i-wrestling-championship/

Paulsboro (NJ) High School won the South Jersey Group I (small school) Wrestling Championship every year between 1980-2007, and again from 2009- 2014, and the state Group I Wrestling Championship from 1983-2007 This streak is the longest State High School Championship streak of any wrestling program in the country up to that time. They also had a streak of 307 straight wrestling victories within their local Athletic Conference. It lasted from 1971 until January 2008.

Penn State Men's Basketball has one the NIT once in the last 8 years under Pat, I think that is right up their with the wrestling program.
