Narduzzi can't shut up about Penn State

I am a die hard penn state fan. Have been my entire life. With that being said I can certainly see why players would want to go to certain schools and play for other coaches outside of Penn State/Franklin. Lot of likeable program/coach combinations out there. As a high school football player I cannot understand why you would ever want to play for this dude. He brings no personality to the table. He looks like such an idiot with some of these comments and he and the Pitt fans are obvious to it. That program will be so much better off when he is gone.
I kind of like the guy. He seems to have a sincere concern for his players and the kids gravitate toward him. That being said, Lets kick some butt. We Are...

So in summary we all can hope he is there another 20-30 years........

Ron cook’s article this week (perhaps inadvertently) highlighted how much CJF is in Narduzzi’s head. Everything is reactive. This whole “signals” bs is just further proof how Franklin controls the narrative. Again and again he says jump and up Narduzzi goes. Dooz, keep up; the joke is on you. What a pathetic chump he is.

Interesting quote about Paterno killing Pitt football. How do you mean? e.g. By winning about 5 out of every 6 games?

As you probably know, 35 or so years ago, Joe tried to help all of "Eastern" football grow and thrive by strongly advocating for a Conference. Pitt and Syracuse were too short-sighted to see it. Pitt's failure to be strategic and see the value was one factor in PSU joining the B1G and dropping the annual games with the Eastern schools. They in turn had to react quickly and form a conference (The Big East) that was automatically 2nd tier to the B1G, simply because it lacked Penn State. That 'killed' Pitt football (meaning they never returned to the short-lived modern glory years of 1973-1982) as much as PSU winning so consistently over them.
Thanks Bob, you spared me the recap of history.....

I get your point at the same time the BE is terrible. Villanova and the nine dwarves. The league is a thin shadow of the glory days.

I don;t think that is fair. Butler played in 2 national championship games THIS decade. Xavier has more sweet 16 appearances than 98% of college teams. Seton Hall plays good basketball, certainly Georgetown has a rich history, Marquette is a good program, Uconn is coming back into the fold, Providence has a great coach.

I think Joe elevated Penn State to a national brand and Pitt could not keep up. Joe made Penn State THE big dog in the east and relegated Pitt to an afterthought.

I overstated for effect, at the same time as one who graduated from Villanova in 1984, I think the league has gone from the greatest in history down to the weakest of the major conferences.

Stop, they got consistently get the 3rd or 4th most teams into the NCAA tournament.

Even the Big Ten Network referred to Penn State as the Big Brother and Pitt as the Little Brother yesterday.

Narduzzi is just one of those petty, snarky people who just needs conflict. He cant help himself.

As the reporter said, Duzzi brought up the issue on his own (clearly annoyed that no reporter brought it up first). He went on a 2 min 44 second rant and pretty much called Franklin a paranoid thief who likely steals signals himself while accusing others of doing it.

Then he continues on how it’s impossible to steal signals. Maybe he should talk to Bill Belichik, John Madden, Troy Aikman, and Bill Cowher who all say that everyone does it. ;)

If Franklin would have ranted about Narduzzi it’d be all over the outraged Pittsburgh media and on the ESPN ticker.

Narduzzi is the little brother in the back seat. Making him yell really isn't that difficult, but it can be entertaining when you're bored.

The article was a subtle undressing of Narduzzi. When you read it, it’s clear the author goes out of his way to portray the Pitt coach as paranoid and petty — and the author does it in great detail.

Narduzzi’s pissed because he used a scholarship on a guy so he could get our signals and then that no good Franklin changes the signals...blew up Duzz’s genius plan.

I said this in the thread with the weekly articles.

Teams that hurry up to the line and go through a fake snap and then look over to the OC. ARE NOT DOING IT TO STEAL SIGNALS.

They do that to get the defense to show their front and coverage so the OC can then call the best play possible against what the defense is showing.

Also the original idea of hurry up offenses, is to force the defense to be vanilla with their schemes. Now what you are seeing is defenses change their calls when the Offense looks over at the sidelines.

It’s a chess match with the OC and the DC and their schemes. Basically what Duzz just admitted is that he’s playing tiddlywinks, not even checkers.

Narduzzi is an arrogant, humorless, sarcastic pri_k. He can't get decent recruits because he is so unlikable.

Don't be surprised if he has a total meltdown tomorrow. When we are ahead 65 - 3 and Franklin has Levis still passing the ball I expect Narduzzi will see his life pass in front of him and he will realize that he's a failure. This may make him completely unhinged. We may see a Woody Hayes moment.

Plus the whole "Dominate the State" motto when he came aboard was a planting the flag kind of movement.
Motto? I thought that he said it was a goal. I thought it strange that it wasn't Pitt's goal as well.

Would it not be fitting that the Big Ten, which has dreamed of forcing a PSU / MSU rivalry, would advocate that MSU re-hire this gentleman as their DC after his tenure at Pitt concludes?

My favorite part is him wondering how Clifford and Slade will play in a big game. Douche will have to wait a few weeks, like the rest of us, to see that.

“Waste not wont not”, I’m sure the Duzz will use the PSU signals as the foundation of his game plan against the Tarheels this year.

In that explanation, the most noteworthy thing Narduzzi said in response: “We haven’t been thieves, I guess. But usually the people who are paranoid are the people stealing them.”

Let me tell you something: If Narduzzi DIDN'T pick John Petrishen head, about everything he knows about Penn State that could help give Pitt an advantage, the minute he stepped on Pitt's campus, HE'S A COMPLETE IDIOT!

It's not stealing. It's taking advantage of your assets (which would now be John Petrishen) and using those assets to your advantage. It's nothing new. Every NFL coach does it. Every NFL coach knows every other NFL coach does it and makes adjustments (like changing their signals).

That's YOUR COACH Pitt fans. LOL!!!!!!

I wonder what it would take for the Duzz to completely crack and resign being Pitts coach during the game. I hope Franklin pushes enough to find out.
I'm having the same thoughts. This is Coach Franklin's last chance to push Narduzzi over the edge. My idea is to get ahead by something like 61 - 3, have Levis drive the ball to inside the pitt 5 yard line, put Wade in the wildcat formation and let him run the ball into the endzone. I think this might make Narduzzi completely unhinged. We might get a Woody Hayes moment that would be remembered for decades.
