NCAA brackets and seeds discussions

I'm working on another project far away from Minnesota

Can’t wait for tonight and then a few of you breaking down most likely opponents thru the semis I enjoy seeing that

Hopefully all 10 have easy (I know I know) path to qtrs. Would be nice for all 10 to get there and atleast 8 into the semis

The brackets coming out and Thursday morning are typically the high points of the tournament for me. Thursday night the tide turns with a couple Hawkeye's getting upset and then the quarterfinals on Friday lead me to drinking. Saturday morning, as I sit hungover, I watch the last shred of any positivity get ripped away as the placement matches always seem to end with a loss. Best time of the year!!!
POTY candidate.......

Anyone getted snubbed that shouldn't have? Maybe someone got ahold of some proof that there were nefarious acts that kept someone out of the tourney.

I'm looking at you coaches, since there has been chatter in the past about backroom deals.

I’m not advocating for any criteria.

I’m trying to understand how we objectively apply an “against the field record” when even those could be wildly different. Just like winning one conference isn’t the same as winning another.
I'm trying to understand why we are still discussing this FFS

This just in: Although we are still a week away from the tournament, Manning has already thrown three bricks in between joining the Drexel coaching staff for another in a first round bout vs Penn State, down 16-3.

Tyler Brennan
Yeah, that's a Mr. Hankey level storm.

Aside from the "why was he allowed to compete at all this year" -- he won Pac 12s and is the only conference qualifier.

So now does the conference runner-up get promoted despite not being an at large or alternate? If so, how do they score his Conference Finish?

Or do they promote the altermate and name a new alternate?

Or do they only go 32 at the weight? If so, do they kill the pigtail, or do they seed normally and DQ Brennan?

Plus NCAA will need to scrub Brennan's matches from W-L, Quality Wins, and Common Opponents for everyone he faced. Unless they bracket and DQ him.

On the one hand, how do you let in guy whose eligibility has been exhausted?

On the other hand, the time to catch the error was before the season, and it wasn't necessarily on him to catch it (or maybe they say it was, if there was some sort of subterfuge). And if you remove him from the tournament, do you wipe out his season and recalculate the records of all his opponents? Maybe it's a harder question if other guys aren't also competing in their fifth tournament, which likely goes to why the error was honest and wasn't caught.

Of all the absolute major f ups I expect from the frat boy clown show FRL, I never had “cost a kid his eligibility” on the bingo card. But it was a matter of time I suppose until they did something incredibly stupid. 🐀

Query whether CP and JV mention it if it involved Iowa

There’s a LOT of guilty parties.

The coaches, athlete, conference, NCAA for not checking.

I do feel terrible for the kid though. He’s been through a lot and is/was a GREAT story. Losing record and wins conferences.

NCAA can’t let him compete though. I think it would open them up to litigation for anyone to get a 5th shot.
