Thought this might be an interesting topic.
I'm sure there are a lot of wrestlers with great stories and many that could be considered unsung or underappreciated.
One that came to my mind and made me look a little deeper into him is Myles Amine. Amine is a RSJR who has placed 4th, 3rd and 3rd at Nationals. He has 18 total losses in those three years and 11 are to either Mark Hall or Zahid Valencia. Two more to Bo Jordan (offset by 2 wins). Penn State fans are obviously familiar with him, but Hall and Valencia cast a pretty big shadow on a guy who has performed well at Nationals without making a Finals appearance.
Fresno State Jr. 197 Josh Hokit finished in 5th Place today with a 27-8 record. He was 9-8 last season. What makes his story unique is that he is a RB for the Bulldogs football team. He's not a star, tallying only 260 rushing yards on the season. But he played in 13 of 14 games, including Fresno's December 15 Las Vegas Bowl win over Arizona State. He didn't wrestle his first match until the Reno TOC on 12/20 where he went 4-1. Not sure how big his actual weight cut was but that's a quick and successful transition from football to wrestling!
What other wrestlers have had good performances/careers that may not quite get the recognition they deserve? Any that have great personal stories that many may not know about?
