NCAA's - brackets, seeds and other pre-tournament discussions

I'm going to have 6 TV's in my main basement area: (1) 85", & (5) 50". We will have Matcast with the first four mats on the 85" and mats 5-8 on the other 4. When there is good space for one PSU guy on the mat at a time, we will put that on the 85". I'll have Byer's call Bluetooth into the surround sound. Then, I have another smaller TV in the back above the bar that will have basketball on for a couple of my friends. (I follow it a little bit just because I put in a bracket).

Like every year, I'm like a kid anxiously waiting for Christmas to arrive. I can't wait!
In other words, you are the Spacex/NASA control room for all things Lion.
So many of us share your "Christmas Eve" vibe.

Chris Craft would be jealous of your setup

Can you post your address?

What kind of beer and pizza do you like?

From Todd Conner over at GIA:

"At Big Tens Caliendo placed second at 165 and really closed the gap with #1 seed and #1 ranked Mitchell Mesenbrink of Penn State with a 4-1 decision in the finals.

I believe everyone is predicting a Caliendo-Mesenbrink finals at 165. Calinedo is now a takedown away from being a national champion."
Sorenson says “wut?”

They can talk about closing the gap all they want, but not many Hawks have lost to a PSU wrestler and come back to win later. Clark over Gulibon is the only one that comes to mind ... since wrestling began of course.

It seems like once we get their number we keep it.
There are a couple. Marinelli - Cenzo is another recent example.

I was wondering whether the NCAA was going to do something about him. They never miss a chance to be the villain and needlessly punish their athletes. Frankly, he never should have been allowed to wrestle at all this year. He used 4 non-Covid-year years of eligibility already (2020, 22, 23, 24 - 21 was the "free" year and he was hurt that year). But now, one day before NCAAs is a completely inappropriate time to kick him out. This needed to be done before the season. What's worse is that he didn't qualify in any of the 4 years where he competed in the PAC 12 champs, and now he finally did in his fifth try was set to finally get a chance at the big dance, and the power hungry maniacs at the NCAA ripped it away from him. Pathetic.

The issue was identified over a week ago.

Pretty pathetic that NCAA Wrestling can't make an obvious decision in under 7 days.

Quite the seating arrangement they put together, Ferrari in between Carter and Gable.
Is Ferrari now invisible? 4 "stars" were invited to the opening press conference: Carter, Gable, O'Toole and Ferrari. Guess which one missed the first 3/4 of the press conference? Must have left his Fast Twitch in front of his mirrors . So we got one O'Toole and one regular tool. Disrespectfully showing up very late........Isn't that the equivalent of flipping double birds to the NCAA?

What is the estimated time for the Noon Quarters to be finished?? and also what time consis would be done for the same Friday Noon session.??
Also is there a couple of Penn State seat sections that were assigned to the school. I was looking for ticket(s) last night and would prefer not to sit next to the Brands Brothers family 😒

QFs are 40 matches on 4 mats so should take ~ 2hrs

When are weigh-ins for finals. Is it before Afternoon Session? Finalist should weigh in 3 hours before the expected match times.
Finals are 7pm
First weight weighs in at 4pm
Last weight weighs in at 6pm
I am under the impression that all weigh-ins are in the morning. So all day to hydrate and eat before the finals

Looks like we have three opportunities for NCAA wrestling to delay coverage of basketball this weekend:

  • Session 3 television coverage is scheduled to end at 3:00 on Friday on ESPNU. NCAA women’s basketball starts at 3:30.

  • Session 5 television coverage is scheduled to end on Saturday at 2:00 on ESPNU. NCAA women’s basketball starts at 2:30.

  • Session 6 television coverage is scheduled to end on Saturday night at 10:00 on ESPN. NCAA women’s basketball starts at 10:00. This is our best chance.
