ND/UGA playoff game thread....

Who is banged up?

I think Mills, the DE who got hurt vs Indiana, and Love, the RB who had a big game vs IU and played very little vs UGA, are the primary ones. Article mentions some others. 2 others were possibly limited vs UGA and some who have been out for weeks/months.

ND about to find out that the SECZ is a lot tougher than Army, Navy, and Pitt.
Army and Navy were actually good this year. Army only lost to Navy and ND. ND killed both. Navy beat Oklahoma(SEC) who beat Alabama(SEC) and now ND beat Georgia (SEC Champion) and ND didn't even play Pitt

Irish was beating IU by 24 under 5 minute mark. The 14 they scored late is misleading for that comparison.
And I think everyone that watched the two games watched pure domination by ND over Indiana then ND coming up with key big plays at the right time to beat Georgia.

UGAs athleticism is comparable to OSU and for that reason, I'm satisfied that we will face ND. In no way do I think it will be an easier game, but strictly from a blue chip ratio perspective, it's the matchup I preferred.

I think we need to deploy a similar game plan as Boise: stop the run. Spy Leonard. Win turnover battle. I think there is more room to run than UGA let on (they threw entirely too much imo). Even based on USC and Louisville, there is room to pass. UGA just couldn't get right yesterday.

I think all of that is fair
The "experts" love ND after that game and they're lukewarm on us because of who we beat + Franklin' past (IMO) but I can't wait to see if we can beat ND. I think we have a great shot but it can't be a game where AK just falls in love with something....like Evans deep

I think turnovers is going to be the difference. I think we match up well on both sides, particularly if Carter can play and Allen keeps on his current roll. We'll have to stop the run primarily. A healthy love isn't a Jeanty, but they do have a better OL.

Turnovers are huge and I thought I heard a stat where ND is great at getting turnovers but they themselves do not turn the ball over.

It really comes down to both lines of scrimmage. If we have some success running and can control their run game with their RB and Leonard while not turning it over then we win the game. Vice versa with them. If they can run and shut down our run game they probably win barring them committing turnovers which they are not prone to doing.

For those who argue about Franklin's record in big games..... THIS IS A BIG GAME.

Of course all games are big games including the first two rounds of the playoffs. But this game is against a true blueblood and top 5 ranked team.

Franklin has to get a lot of credit from his critics if we win this one.

To be fair passing to Evans deep resulted in 2 big plays and a couple of PI penalties.

I agree that ND is going to have a better secondary than our last two opponents.
