New OC Candidates

Moorhead was available to do that - - - their season ends in November..

If the next OC is a guy currently coaching a team, there is a good chance - one would expect - that he will be continuing to coach that team until their season is over (It's not like PSU is hiring a HC - who needs to be on site ASAP for any number of reasons that don't apply to an AC/OC)

Don't forget "the OC dont make the catches or the blocks" so there really should be no rush. Players got this yo

Breiner, but he wasn’t really an OC. Joe called all the plays and designed the entire offense. Fordham took a huge step backward when Breiner took over for Joe. Franklin is way too smart to hire Breiner.

Breiner was a WR at Lock Haven by the way and is from the Harrisburg area. He got connected with Joe at UCONN when he was a GA and followed him to Fordham and now Miss State.
He’s from Hershey

Brady. Upside with him, besides the obvious, is that he might get 2021 QB Caleb Williams to come along with him.

Ed Orgeron said that Scott Woodward had a plan in place if things had to change. When were they first approaching you when there needed to be a change?

I’m not going to comment on any of that stuff. I’ve said all along I’m just trying to be the best passing game coordinator that I can be—a wide receiver coach. What my future holds, I have no idea. When I was a graduate assistant, whether I was an offensive assistant or defensive assistant, I never looked at the next job. So from that standpoint, I haven’t thought about what could be potentially next for me. I’m just hoping to be the best receivers coach I can, and hopefully get two more games this season and have success with that, and I know the rest will take care of itself.

Saturday you said, ‘Absolutely,’ your future was at LSU. Is that different?

No. Look, if LSU wants me, I loved everything about LSU. Like I said, I don’t know what the future holds. I think it’s, I’d love to be at LSU, and when I say, ‘Absolutely,’ it’s because I absolutely love being there. I don’t think of another job. I never have no matter what. Whether the New Orleans Saints came calling. No matter what, whoever it was, I don’t think of those things. That wasn’t a reaction to just winning an SEC Championship Game. I love LSU. I love everything about LSU. I haven’t thought of what’s next for me. I’ve purposely tried to take everything and just focus on the games that we’ve been playing and whatnot. So, nothing’s changed from that standpoint.

Read the 5 pages from Dec 2015 yourself. Besides the usual folks who are/were consistently negative and bitch about about any and all things Penn State or Franklin does, many were on board with the hire.
Funny how some of those negative posters aren’t on here anymore...at least under those names, but they still sound pretty damn familiar. Wonder who Guns and LionRevival are posting as now?:)

Would love to get Brady, but I cant see PSU paying $1.5-1.75MM to get him. He is all but guaranteed that at LSU or UT. He could also have desires of getting back to the NFL. Some good names have been mentioned here, but what are the odds its a name no one has mentioned and everyone does the happy dance?

I would think the PSU OC job is a pretty attractive job right now. The real heavy lifting has been completed. All positives ahead.

I don't think any of us has any particular insight as to who it might be. Will be interesting to see if the choice indicates that Franklin was able to get the kind of money he wants for ACs.

He got out of Colorado a few years before things went south. I think Barnett felt like Neuheisel created some of the mess that was there, but he was probably just pointing fingers at anyone given the way he was being tossed under the bus.

I don't recall whether anything was bad at Washington.
He won an NCAA basketball bracket and was forced to resign

Franklin has recruited so many high character kids, that his only option is to hire Pat Narduzzi. While he is at it, he could bring in Wanny, Todd Graham and some other ex-Pitt coaches to make a dream team.

Translation, "I'm going to milk this for all the money and promotion I can while I still have it to milk." For which, I can't blame him

Alright here is my final idea on all this:
RICH ROD & MIKE MCQUEARY,
CO-OFFENSIVE COORDINATORS!

RR in charge of the Run game & Passing game.

MM in charge of sending dick pix.

It's almost like you had inside information.... :)
Not really, just knew of Kirk when he played at Red Land and followed him once he started coaching at Delaware. Was impressed with how he handled/developed Joe Flacco and how he progressed from there. Just been impressed with what he has accomplished in his career and thought he would be a great PSU fit. Hope I'm right...
