No Minnesota on the schedule

I was hoping our guys would come out to Minnesota for a dual. No such luck, but at least we'll get to see them at the B1G Tourney. http://www.gophersports.com/sports/m-wrestl/sched/minn-m-wrestl-sched.html

No surprise that we don't have them this year as that is the way the BIG rotation works. I see they are going to the South Beach Duals again instead of the Scuffle. I wonder what PSU will schedule this year? Scuffle, South Beach Duals, Reno, Vegas? Hopefully we find out sooner rather than later so that travel plans can be made.

You mean 45 straight dual meet wins. Or do you mean three straight national championships? I am confused as to what streak you have misconstrued.

Classic Roar, you set the standard I always wish to attain.

Has anyone pieced together the PSU schedule for 2018/19 based on what others have released?
I was thinking this should be a sticky of some sort... until the actual schedule comes out. It’s be nice to see what we have, according to other teams, since we know the psu schedule drags we’ll into summer.

Here is the 1993 Penn State team that won the National Duals;
118) Shawn Nelson
126) Sanshiro Abe
134) Cary Kolat
142) Russ Hughes
150) Troy Sunderland
158) Josh Robbins
167) Dave Hart
177) Matt White
190) Kerry McCoy
hvy) Greg Troxell
You've yet to field a team that could win a dual against this lineup.

Jim Gibbons says No Sh**, forfeit at 118.

And it's still irrelevant. Maybe next year the Goofers will be top 15 at the end of the season.

Bump everybody up a weight and the 2017-18 team wins the last 7 matches. But what the heck, play again?

I remember that team well. Won the national duals by beating Missouri, Ohio State, Arizona State and Nebraska, in order. All but Missouri were really tight affairs. It was a really strong team whose only blemish on its record (22-0-1) was a dual meet draw with Iowa. Wound up second at NCAAs.

But it really places the strength of the recent teams in perspective. Nitlion6 is pretty spot on. In all likelihood, that team would win the first three against the 2017-18 team and then get shut out the rest of the way.

PS, when is the last time Minnesota beat Penn State at NCAAs, B10s, the Scuffle, or any other tournament?

It might be hard to think that 2-time NCAA champ McCoy would be underdog to Rasheed. But that was McCoy’s FR year and he was only something like 19-17. He bulked up massively when he moved up to Hwt the next year.

Minnesota and Iowa come and go together. Neither will be on our conference schedule.
Rutgers & Maryland, same...neither will be on the schedule.

Nebraska & Wisconsin go together, both are HOME.
Michigan & MSU go together, both are HOME.
Purdue & Indiana go together, both are AWAY.
Northwestern & Illinois go together, both are AWAY.
Ohio State is our rivalry school, they're AWAY.

Non-conference will surely have Lehigh (HOME likely).

Yeah, I think I can remember when Minny was pretty good at wrestling. Almost as well as I remember the Montreal Canadians being a factor in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

So there you have it. In the past 8 years, Minnesota has beaten PSU at 1 total tournament. Congratulations.

PS, what is furry, wears a sweater with no pants, and quacks like a duck? Goldy Gopher on Jan 1 and Jan 2.

Wow twice this decade! Impressive! Jammenz you really need to work on upping your troll game but I guess Minnesota wrestling is not giving you much material to work with.

Minny hasn't beaten PSU's sophmore class alone, at the last 3 NCAAs:

2016: Soph [Retherford] 28.5 Minnesota 26
2017: Sophs [The 3 N's] 64.5 Minnesota 62.5
2018: Sophs [Cenzo, Hall] 41.5 Minnesota 27.5

Maybe NLee will RS next year [0 Sophs] so Minny has a chance.

Now THAT is an example of not d*cking around on a message board. Ouch, that had to leave a mark.

I once heard from the biggest walking encyclopedia of music that I've ever known (and I hold my own, I'll add) that she was the only female vocalist that Robert Plant would ever consider singing on any of Zeppelin's albums. Hence, her appearance on their 4th album.
That's interesting. Now he has been/is singing with a number of women. Allison Krauss, Elle King, Cheryl Crow.

I caught the Plant/Krauss show on Mud Island in Memphis a few years back. It was amazing. Just the right mix of Zeppelin, AK and Union Station, and new stuff. New takes on old stuff, Plant like you've never heard him, Krauss like you've never heard her and the combination that was indescribable.
