No statement from Sandy on Delany's comments.

I don't get the hatred for Sandy that some have. She has been one of the most supportive voices since she got here. She's been on the field high-fiving and/or consoling players personally win or lose. She said to a reporter immediately after the game that we should be in the 4-team playoff.

She may be a big spender and I have no idea what her hiring decisions are like, but she certainly hasn't done anything to warrant anger or hatred.

I don't get why people don't understand that you don't air family laundry in public. Yeah, Delaney is going to listen to what you have to say after you embarrass/disrespect him in public.

Even Joe did most of his politicking behind closed doors. He had earned the respect and gravitas to perhaps mention something in public and get away with it. But even he knew not to fight all of his battles in public.

You're damn right he should be embarrassed in public. He came out and politicked against the champion of his own damn conference.

How to Win Friends and Influence People by 21Guns.

1.) Piss them off.
2.) Embarrass them in public.
3.) Tell them you're right and they're wrong.
4.) Demand a public apology.
5.) Exoect them to do everything you want in the future.
BONUS: if the person you're castigating is a conference commissioner, act shocked when the officiating and scheduling suddenly don't go in your favor. Like, ever. Listen to fan base piss and moan and the commissioner won't take your calls.

That'll be a best seller. Maybe you can get Trump to write the forward.

More than politicked - he devalued his own conference's regular season championship, the CCG and the importance of b1g shizhole play in general to outright shill for daO$U and misuse & abuse his position & authority to harm the hard-EARNED equity of PSU's student-athletes in favor of unjustly and corruptly politicking for daO$U to a national audience on "College Game Day" the very moring of the b1g CCG??? The OP is nuts that a FORMAL COMPLAINT should not be filed for such inappropriate behavior which conflicts with his STATED DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS under his contract including his fiduciary obligations to PSU as a member school that pays for this POS to represent the conference! The PSU Community - you know the 40,000 people booing Delany last night - are owed ANSWERS from this POS conference contrary to what Mr. b1g shizhole boot-licker wants to claim.

Seems to me that we've been doing it the polite way. Haven't said anything publicly. Haven't stood up to anybody. If we've been doing anything in the backroom, quietly, it doesn't appear to have worked.

We're still the redheaded bastard stepchild of the conference. Our own commissioner can barely bring himself to say our name out loud, let alone lobby for us. The whole world knows now that only two teams are actually full-time members of the Big Ten, and the rest of us all are associate members.

Nothing will ever change unless we make it change. And so far, we've shown no inclination to do that. If we continue to be polite and not make a fuss, nobody should be surprised when we continue to be used as the conference urinal and pissing post, and when that happens nobody should complain.

Damn straight! We have a RIGHT to better treatment from this POS conference given what we pay into it - especially the RIGHT to an expectation that our dedicated student-athletes do not have their hard-EARNED EQUITY, earned on the field of play, stolen from them by the likes of a charlatan and POS like Delany! While Barbour is at it, she can tell this POS that we want our Bowl Revenues that were illegitimately stolen from us a couple years ago!

Come on Dem. This is all on you. Get your project done (hopefully it's finished) and start kicking ass. Let's GO

I think this needs to be dealt with by Barron directly. Sandy dealing with this would be like sending out the pitching coach. And not Barron alone but with the Wisconsin president.

He wasn't embarrassed when he was booed out of the stadium on national TV? Yeah, I guess not.

There is no question that the best way to handle this type of thing is from behind the scenes. The problem is, that hasn't worked; not in the last 5 years nor the last 25 years. Even with the victories of reviewing calls that JoePa was successful at, they still made the calls the way they wanted with their own smoke and mirrors.

Sorry, we could not see the replays, the call stands....You can't review that they kicked the ball after the time was out....Half a foot in and half a foot out is "IN", oh we'll change that rule next year. Let's add time to the clock like the Russians until they win....

There comes a time when enough is enough. Delaney is a Big 2 homer and there is no doubt about it. He must be removed. He needs to apologize for taking our money, jumping to conclusions before any facts were known and being a biased jerk. His job is to represent all of the teams equally.

Too much time has gone by at this point so it is not happening. File a formal complaint to have him ousted. If it is not acted upon immediately go public. Stop bringing a knife to a gun fight. How much more abuse and lack of acceptance from behind the scenes efforts that fail does it take to stand up for yourself.

Can you prove your accusations? The only truly egregious ones were in the OSU game and the league admitted the refs were wrong after the fact.

Look, I don't like it any more than anyone else. But we don't know the dynamics behind the scenes. Maybe we don't have the votes to pull off something like that. Maybe the schools that aren't football powers are content to put up with it and ride the gravy train. Maybe there is still animosity over Sandusky among the other Presidents.

On top of that, how do you think you're going to attract a quality commissioner to replace Delaney,?if we were successful, with that kind of public fighting going on? It'll make the Big 12 look functional. You don't think Delaney had some chits he can call in for a PR battle? You just assume everyone will see it our way. In case you haven't noticed, a large segment of the public thinks we're a bunch of football before children crazy fans who care about nothing but the game. What you see as a battle for fairness will be spun like we're petty fanatics.

In any event, this isn't the kind of move you play out like this. If your company CEO played favorites with his employees and you're on the short end of the stick, do you go to the news and bitch about it? Or demand he be fired? No. It would have to be something very serious, like embezzlement. Even then, guess what? Everyone in the company would prefer you handle it internally.

I'm sure he was. Not the same thing. The AD or President didn't make a scene. Fans did. Fans boo muckety mucks all the time.

I'm sure we have had many closed door, kind, ass kissing conversations with the big ten over the last decade.

Nothing's changed after playing nice for 20 years.

I'd burn them in public for all to see.

What could the big ten do in response to that?
-Not lobby for us to go the playoff
-Hose is with officiating
-Keep millions of dollars in bowl revenue

Too many pussies run PSU, not enough balls.

Admittedly it's a bit more complicated, it's more symbiotic than a pure business, but it's the same idea. Delaney runs the conference. We're a member. Delaney can fine coaches and schools, etc. Schools report up to the conference on many issues.

Yes... Barron.*
This will definitely happen. In fact, I am going to ask Santa to deliver this present AND world peace to us all this year. Then it's an even more sure thing.

Maybe he and the immediate past president can go in tandem to Delaney and 1. apologize 2. very softly demand / politely request some consideration 3. try not to pee themselves while doing all of this.

* aka "Barron The Meek". "Barron Von Nondissent". "The Barron Who Whispers In Our Defense".

Sorry, LH - not meant as a shot at you. Just thinking that our leaderlessness will take such an action is almost comical if not outright sad.

Just my opinion...
Yes, Delaney does have that authority, but in the best outline of such a conference, HE works for the conference, which is made up of the participating schools. He needs to always be a servant leader, not simply an authoritative leader. He runs the conference on the schools' behalf; he publicly leads the best interests of the both the collective conference and the individual schools.

Imo, he isn't doing that in some critical areas. He failed miserably when it came to 2012 and not challenging Erickson and the NCAA to really take a closer look at what the Freeh Report was - and was NOT - providing proof of, he was silent on the many replay issues we had since (not to mention the ones before 2011 where JVP had to fight like hell just to get others to recognize there was a big problem), etc. We should not look at him as if he is some untouchable leader. He needs to be challenged and should welcome other opinions and input to make sure he is hearing what his constituents are saying! (Hello, OGBOT!) That makes him a better, stronger leader. It does not weaken his authority. He cannot outright 'fire' us without cause.

Sometimes the way to wake up the leadership when they turn a deaf ear or become too complacent and inert is to make some public noise. Make him sit up and take notice. THEN get him behind closed doors and talk out the issues and resolutions. But if he ain't answering the door, you may have to call to him via a bullhorn on the street. That's on him.

THIS. This is exactly the point I was trying to make in the other thread about Franklin needing to say more and in public. Is it his job? No. But God knows no one else at the University has the balls to say anything and they polite, professional way we have operated in the past has got us screwed out of a Title shot on at least 4 occasions. Enough is enough!

I'm sure he was. Not the same thing. The AD or President didn't make a scene. Fans did. Fans boo muckety mucks all the time.
Just a clarification, the fans weren't booing him as a muckety muck but for his biased, capricious actions during sanctions and beyond. Piling on. Taking our bowl money and telling us the BIG doesn't provide bowl money to BIG members under probation (unless you're Ohio State who received their bowl money while on probation the two years before) and years of bias in favor of Ohio State and Michigan. None of this is lost on the fan base. It wasn't the place of the AD or President to challenge him, but the fan base has a long memory. I don't know how carefully you followed the sanctions and the roles that were played by Emmert, Ray, Delaney and Erikson but Delaney wasn't on the margins. This is posted not to get into an argument on this board but to offer a clarification.

This is not an employee/employer relationship. The BigTen is a service provider and each of the Universities are the clients.

That is totally different than your premise which is 180 degrees from where it should be. Yes handle it internally whenever you can as I stated as my opening. if your service provider is not providing you with the service promised and in fact is working against you FIRE them! Delaney needs to get that message and make a quick turn around to being a commissioner of all of the BigTen and not the Big2. Give him the year end review and put him on an improvement plan and if he does not work out in short order then fire him!

Lurker absolutely nailed it. We've tried to be nice and we've tried to be diplomatic, but the Big 14 (read Delaney) continues to dump on us at every opportunity. Time to take a different tact, and the public booing of Delaney was absolutely called for and appropriate based on his earlier actions . Frankly, he deserves a lot worse.

As for you Blueband, you are in serious need of some micro-aggression therapy. I suggest you go pet a pony, find a safe space and by all means avoid any further confrontations today.

LOL seriously? I may defend my position, but I don't need micro aggression therapy. You have people like Guns and Barry and Franklin Tradition on the board and I'm the aggressive one?

Besides, the general theme here seems to be we're not aggressive enough.

No issues Bob. I was stating what should occur, not that I have any expectation from feckless Barron on this.

That would be great if Delaney was a "service provider" only for us. But there are 13 other teams in the league. You presume they are also unhappy, but as I pointed out before, maybe they're fine as it is, or at least not concerned enough to rock the boat.

You think I need a backbone for (I presume) not defending State, but Fairfax thinks I'm im too aggressive for defending my opinion. Sort it out and let me know when you get on the same page. :)

I actually like this comment and laughed. It's not the end of the world to disagree on a topic.

With that said, you are wrong. We have taken their shit for 23 years and it's time to stop taking their shit. That time is right now. Not next year, not in 5 years, and not behind any scenes. Right here right now and in public, and from everyone, top to bottom. Top being Barron and Sandy, bottom of course being psychos like Barry and Art.
