Transfer question.

If some one wants to “bet on himself”. Transfer from a D1 program to another D1 program not graduate transfer but wants to forgo his scholarship and walk on does he have to sit out a year.

well not everyone has to leave correct. Let's look at the Wade situation [I have no knowledge on this at all] If he stays he is at worst part of the 2 deep on a thin safety position. If he left and had to sit a year he gains nothing. If he stayed and was able to graduate next year he still would have one year left as a grad transfer. If he can get a waiver or can't graduate next year then transferring makes more sense. At any rate why not check out the landscape and if a great opportunity doesn't appear then stay here.

Once a player enters the portal his head coach CAN end his scholarship after the semester he enters the portal. I doubt many would do that but it has to give you pause to just look around. Especially if there are more players in the portal then scholarships available at D1.

Does the portal have a weight limit like elevators? TIA.

You say you doubt that any coach will cancel a players scholarship, but I don't believe that is necessarily true, although how will anyone really know. At PSU we know that CJF is recruiting to replace as many players that have entered the portal as he can. But we also know that already a number of these players have found new teams, so the reality is that he is not canceling their scholarships as those that have landed elsewhere already have effectively given up their scholarships.

What makes the Wade situation puzzling to me is his comment about it not being his decision. Has that been explained?

I have not seen any further concrete explanations, but obviously some possibilities include:
a) his family situation dictates that he find a school to play at closer to his family. So his family is dictating that he must leave PSU, whereas if that was not the case he would stick it out and continue to play at PSU and compete to start as his career continues to progress
b) By the fact that Wade sees that he is likely to not win the starting Safety position (he fell behind Sutherland in playing time at the end of last season, and Brisker is also coming to compete), that in order to be a key Starter he must transfer. i.e. not his decision that he is not the starter at Safety.
c) This is far out, but if Wade had made some major and multiple violations of team rules, he could have been told to move on from PSU. I find the possibility of this being very, very remote.

I do not see any way this could be rightfully interpreted that CJF is making Wade move on from the PSU football team just based upon what has been made known.

I have been looking for a late 40s, early 50s sugar mamma who likes younger guys with huge cocks. There are not enough to supply the demand. Welcome to this day and age.

I read in the CDT yesterday that Wade’s departure may not have been all his doing.... as per his social media account.

“Wade’s situation is really the only head-scratcher. The former blue-chip recruit was a leading candidate to replace Nick Scott at safety. That doesn’t appear to be the case anymore, after Wade posted a cleared-out locker to his Instagram story with the caption, “This wasn’t my decision, but hey.”

Thats why we invented Division 2

And that's why a lot of guys transfer down a level. We get caught up too much in the big names transferring, when most of the guys transferring no one has ever heard of
