Future Bulldog. Home state kid.
Longtime Buckeye backup QB Devin Brown announced Sunday night he'd be entering the transfer portal but would remain with the team through Ohio State's College Football Playoff run. The Buckeyes play Dec. 21 against Tennessee in the No. 8 vs. No. 9 game.
I like the fact he's staying with the team for the playoff run--he absolutely needs to leave because he'll never start there but doing the right thing
Oh I don't agree with that at all
Ofc u don’t Agree.Oh I don't agree with that at all
Tons of those guys won't be there after this year whether it's due to graduation, transferrring or declaring for the draft
He's put in work all year and is actually doing the right thing by staying
I don't see a single player having an issue with that.
If Beau found out Allar wasn't going to the NFL next year and he entered the portal you wouldn't want him for the playoff? I don't believe that for a second.Ofc u don’t Agree.
Why would a player who’s leaving stick around? Beyond strange. If Beau found out Allar wasn't going to the NFL next year and he entered the portal you wouldn't want him for the playoff? I don't believe that for a second.
People complain about guys leaving their teams and fulfilling the obligation to complete the season. Now someone is doing that and you're still complaining.
He seems like alot of drama.
Why? So, all those players leaving for the draft and graduation should jump ship? Why would a player who’s leaving stick around? Beyond strange.
Hope he doesn’t end up at TennesseeWhy? So, all those players leaving for the draft and graduation should jump ship?
I have no idea how it's "strange" to finish out the season
Again, if Beau did this I'm confident you'd be praising him for staying with the team
You realize he can't enroll now--right?Hope he doesn’t end up at Tennessee
He is but he would definitely make us betterHe seems like alot of drama.
He can’t talk to Tennessee? You realize he can't enroll now--right?
Re: Tengwall's comment. Perhaps Day and Brown spoke, and Day actually encouraged Brown to go into the transfer portal and this is the mutually agreed upon 'divorce'.
I see the "Bear' has both PSU and SMU on his potential visit list.
Michigan just bought a QB. OSU and Oregon will be buying their QB's for next year. Miami, Notre Dame and others will likely be buying their next QB.Re: Tengwall's comment. Day may have decided that O$U was going to move in a different direction at QB and that the NIL $ allocated for Brown could be resources better spent in other areas?
This is just conjecture on my part. Who knows in this new age of college football.
He would have to buy his own tickets to be there as this game is not controlled by either schoolI see the "Bear' has both PSU and SMU on his potential visit list.
Now if those 2 teams were meeting in a playoff game, he could take advantage f being able to see both programs compete against each other.
I wonder if he's interested in attending.
Your belief is he's going to work as a double agent lolHe can’t talk to Tennessee?
No it's not. Probably spoke with teammates & coach Day. Perhaps the team was asked to approve/dissaprove and they agreed. Speculation on my part. Why would a player who’s leaving stick around? Beyond strange.

You gotta be joking me
It’s a conflict of interest regardlessYour belief is he's going to work as a double agent lol

Quinn Ewers or Arch Manning will be available as wellMiller Moss is definitely going to be one of the top portal guys. Miami?
I wonder how much NIL $ Alexander earned this year. Unlike when I attended PSU, many of these players have the resources to cover some of the expenses to attend the game on their own.He would have to buy his own tickets to be there as this game is not controlled by either school
Funny, thought he was next in line for PSU, last guy who failed at Nebraska just went back to Central FLHe’ll be out of a job come next year
So he redshirted for his first year, and now he will be gone. And he tweeted about Happy Valley United, so that's where your $ went if you were dumb enough to donate.
Well, IU's Cignetti was @ JMU as their HC, so he might have an inside track.

Best if you can have both!Agree. For me, LBers need to effectively take proper angles (read/react quickly), be able to take on/defeat blockers, and tackle well. Athleticism and very low 40 times are less important. Just my preference.
Of course but PSU hasn't been signing players that have all of those capabilities. As one poster mentioned they skewed toward athletes for their 4 star signees. I like the two coming in this class, true HS LBers.Best if you can have both!
Duke's Maalik Murphy in the portal. Would expect him to get a ton of attention. Suck for Manny.
That's fair--he was awful against Va Tech and....maybe UNC (trying to remember) but there's a lot of upside and potential there. Felt like he will continue to grow/develop. He looked pretty good against SMU--trying to remember when else I saw him play.I thought he was the biggest issue with the Duke offense this year. He was not very accurate when I watched them (finished at 60% this year). I thought he would have been a much better running threat, but he finished with negative yards for the year.

Will be interesting to see where he ends up--he's definitely raw.
