I watched quite a bit of last weeks game. Notre Dame and Ohio State both looked sloppy. But somehow, the Buckeyes were praised in that game. When was the last time a top 10 team, let alone top 5, started a season 0-2?

OVERRATED.

Ohio State got a lot of criticism for that game. They only put up 21. Their fans weren't at all happy with that game and they're likely even less happy with it now.
Ohio State also dropped a spot in the polls.
Who praised them? They got credit for at least scheduling a supposed contender. Tough to blame them for ND making the worst hiring decision in at least a decade.

App State sadly wasn't their "warm up". Sam Houston was supposed to prepare them for App State--hopefully teams wake up and play real schedules some day.
