Official Graham Spanier trial thread.

Can't say for sure - but I would be very surprised if there is much of a crowd...... beyond a handful of reporters (most of whom won't be paying much attention - and just hoping that a "sound bite" catches their ear) I'd be surprised if there were many folks
It's gonna be warm tomorrow. Maybe I'll take a ride to HBG if the jury has been settled. It's either that or spending all day washing my shoelaces.

hmm a confidential witness...any guesses?
Well, with confidentiality my first thought is a victim, but I'm not sure what they might have to testify about that's relevant to the state showing Spanier's guilt. Other interesting potential guesses could be Fran Ganter or Sloane, which could open the door to learning more about 1998 - although I'm not sure why either would be referred to as confidential.

OAG calling a "confidential witness" they would not name
They did release a picture of him:

Are you kidding??? The Pennlive trolls will be there. If they can find their way to the courthouse and a place to park their bicycles that is.

Just because someone's on a witness list doesn't mean they are going to get called as a witness.

Either a prominent figure ... a coach who's gone on to NFL or another college, a former governor, a well-known former player, a former FBI director

or

Someone that they want to avoid being tampered with before their testimony, some current or former PSU employee with inside knowledge, not someone who's spoken previously on record

or

a victim/accuser

So we have it confirmed that the prosecution plans on calling, at a minimum, Curley, Schultz, McQueary, and the confidential witness to testify against Spanier. Who that witness is is anyone's guess. We'll find out soon!
I bet the confidential witness is v2. He said Sandusky told him that a psu admin might be calling since the admin told Sandusky that someone reported seeing the two of them in a sexual situation in the showers.

Or maybe the confidential witness is a smokescreen and there is no such thing.
I thought that as well.....but the whole notion of called Schultz and Curley could be a lark as well. So much gamesmanship at this point. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Well....he would certainly be "confidential"....

We've been told he is "Known only to God" :)

Truth be told, I cant imagine it would be the person who has been playing the role of V2 (since I know there are those who are consternated as to who is the "real" V2 :) ).....he would be a horrendous witness for the Prosecution.
There were aspects that the Sandusky PCRA attorney couldn't get into.....but that would be open season for GS.....that the Prosecution would not want to have opened up.
