Official PSU - Auburn Whiteout Game Thread

We Are ...

- happy to have a Whiteout in nice weather
- looking forward to hearing the Student Section and the rest of the fans make a lot of noise
- surprised and pleased to be hosting a SEC team, as they don't travel north too frequently
- curious to see how Auburn responds to the Whiteout experience
- expecting to be celebrating a good game, and a nice win, throughout the evening

... Penn State!!!!!!!!
James gives them a three point spot.
Penn State press box saying this is the most opposing fans they have seen in recent memory.
Clifford looking good.

It really is too bad the NCAA is nothing but a clown show. These calls ("grounding") and not being able to count to 4, something has to be done about. It is cheating, plain and simple. If Auburn wins the game fair and square, no problem. But this is reprehensible. The announcers need to make a big deal of it because no one else will. It's like getting newspapers involved in political scandals, that is the way to get things done. But they are ****ing pussies.

And we all thought the b1g refs were horrific with not calling holding, which they are. Seriously, something needs to be done about officiating behavior that amounts to cheating. Especially when it is right there for everyone to see.

But we're good. Sandy to the rescue.

I disagree. PSU had 2 TOs. Eat the ball and call TO. Plenty of time to regroup and get into FG range.

Other than that he played great that half.

Ok, that makes sense. What I meant was he was hit while he was throwing. That could've been a td.

259-158 total yards.

  • Franklin decision to go for it 4th and 1.
  • Grounding fiasco
  • Smith missed pick 6
  • Clifford late INT under pressure
PSU played great but missed some opportunities.

Ok, Debbie Downer.

Is the down something that can be challenged? Franklin knew it was 3rd down. Loved his non-answer to Holly Rowe at the end of the half.

I hope someone from the SEC (or b1g) has the decency to tell these clown Officials what asses and embarrassments they've made of themselves, and the Conference they represent. Inexcusable Officiating in that PSU Series - the IG call clearly was not a penalty under the actual rule, it states that the QB must be under duress and clearly attempting to avoid a sack (the rule precludes obvious busted routes between QB & Receiver). As if that wasn't embarassing enough, they followed it up with taking a down from PSU and then insisting they were right when challenged vociferously by Coach Franklin WHEN THEY WERE UNEQUIVOCALLY WRONG! Didn't even make sure of their insistence when Franklin insisted they were unequivocally wrong.... didn't ask for help from Replay Booth or any of their other resources despite the fact they were dead wrong and didn't have a leg to stand on (on either call to be honest). Just a complete embarrassment hack, homer officiating.

That was some beautiful play calling overall. Two TD drives of 88 and 91 yards. Better than Morehead and the mesh point
What about the nascar package? LOL Watch the years when Michael Robinson was an underclassman and Zach Mills was a broken toy. Makes your eyes bleed.

What is a step below Shizholian? That is what these Refs are :0)

yes - Auburn fans are playing the “what-if” scenario too. Particularly Castro fields getting smoked and their guy trips and falls. It’s a new half coming up.
If I’m not mistaken, that trip and fall never happens if Smith has the pick 6. I’ve been drinking, but I think the trip was 3rd down

Officials for this egregious of call should be suspended.

The good thing about watching PSU games is you get to see penalties called that you're not going to see for another 50 years or until we play next week.

Or simple down calls that are just plain wrong and the Clown Ref double-down on National TV when challenged on it! Good grief, just f'ing ridiculous.

What's funny about the officiating fiasco is that it was obvious to everyone that they tried to do a make-up call with the spot of the ball. Then had to overrule themselves.

Clear evidence that officials do not call each play as it is, at least not this group.

Let's hope they do not influence what has otherwise been a great game. Two teams playing fast and playing hard. Great spectacle.
