Not the best pass there but a great adjustment by the WR is what made that play.

It was clearly a planned "back shoulder" throw - it's what you do when you can't get separation. It's similar to running a button-hook or come-back route.... only the receiver and QB know how deep the route is going to be broken off - thereby creating the separation. Nix threw it perfectly to the correct side - the opposite side the d-back is on.

I've never seen intentional grounding called when a QB and receiver miscommunicate and the QB throws a long ball with nobody home. Clifford wasn't under any pressure! That call was idiotic.
