Official PSU - Ball State game thread ...

With all do respect, so was the runner with the ball, so that needs to be considered 🤷‍♂️
That’s what the rules “expert” said, but apparently the expert doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Ball State moral victory against the bench. This was standard fair for Joe. Don’t run it up. Let the bench play. He used something weird called “sportsmanship”. I think it went out of style a while ago.
When the “eye test” became a huge part of making the playoffs.

Exactly, and these replay booth officials are getting bamboozled.

Was called because his first contact was intended to be, and was, with the crown of his helmet. Tough call but given the way he lead with his crown, I think a correct one.

Now the PI Call was just ridiculously bad and typical bullshit of b1g clown Officials helping PSU's opponents to try to make the final score a little closer. Beyond the fact that there is no PI on the play at all (as the replay clearly shows), but the ball was not remotely "catchable" (was way over both players' heads), which it has to be for PI. Just a brutally ridiculous call as the replay demonstrates, but fairly typical for the b1g clowns where PSU is concerned.

Pleased that we added a TD against these dirty mouth breathers from Indiana. What is it about that state?

How many of those completions were within 5 yards of the LoS? Hell within 2? Go back and watch the tape.

on the bright side, good to see an OC not trying to make Clifford something he isn’t.
unbelievable

I think the days of JoePa civility are gone. Times change. Backups want to play hard too - their D needs to keep playing. Have no problems with the 'late' TD.

that's two punches landed by Ball State players that I've seen, open handed or not they should have been penalized

am I crazy? did anyone else see that? three camera focused right on the kid

It is bewildering that the rules experts on these games (NFL included) are so often wrong.

I think they can call it on both players - and maybe should have in this case as both led with crown.... Believe in that situation, the penalty yardage offsets, but ejections and suspensions stand.

I would agree except...

Check out Penn State's last TD late in the game against Rutgers back in 1997. Of course, the working theory is that MM had money on the spread and called an audible.

How about the beyond obvious hold on the Fair Catch they didn't call???? Doesn't matter if it's a Fair Catch, Ball ST blocker is not permitted to lock onto PSU Gunner's Jersey with both hands and start whipping him in a circle.
