Ahhh, feels good to type that again, it's been too long.
This game has the makings of a defensive snoozefest....which means it'll probably be a shootout. But seriously, first team to 20 wins and of course I'm assuming one of these two teams can actually get to 20. Georgia, while in transition from an old coaching staff and the loss of a few key players, is still more talented overall.
Defensively, UGA has two 4* players on their DL, three 4* LB's including two R100 players, one 4* DB (R100) for a total of SIX 4* starters on Defense. For comparison, Penn State has THREE if you count John Reid.
Offensively, UGA has two 4* and one 5* (R100) offensive linemen, a 4* (R100) TE, two 4* and one 5* WRs (two R100 total), and a 5* (R100) running back. 8 total 4 or 5 star starters on offense. For comparison, Penn State has SIX four star guys.
By the numbers, the two teams seem evenly matched, but from a raw skill perspective, Georgia has a distinct advantage. We've seen how games turn out when Penn State faces a formidable defense and the results have not been W's; however, the intangibles side with PSU from coaching chaos to motivation.
With that said, my gut tells me this is going to result in another L. Georgia just has too much talent even without coaching guidance. Their depth is far greater than PSU's and they have the ability to keep Penn State's "explosive" plays to a minimum.
PENN STATE - 13
GEORGIA - 20
