Ohio St dual - Predictions.

On the Askren Rowlands podcast yesterday Rowlands mentioned, somewhat cryptically, that BoJo had an injury that required time off the mat, and that he'd come back cold against Meyer, not having been on the mat for two weeks.
Must be hard to get a pre-bake on the road.

anyone read the articles posted today? The Ohio St one stated "Snyder will return to the lineup for heavyweight this week, but the Buckeyes will have a replacement at 157 pounds for redshirt sophomore Jake Ryan. Bo Jordan will likely be in the lineup after wrestling against Iowa, but is still recovering from an injury."

Anybody think Tan Tom goes all in for this match? Takes his foot off the training gas a bit and comes in rested? Martin has looked like crap....like last year, but he showed he can be a gamer. It is not too difficult to give Nato and Snyder 6, and Pletch, BoJo, Martin and Moore three each. They get to 24 which puts them at a pretty good place. Stretch, sure, but possible. If there is a three way tie in the BT, who goes to face the Pokes?

Hope I am wrong but I see this very close

So Coach is going to hide his boy from getting slaughtered.

Count me in for the blackout part. I put the BoJo question to my OHBro Dan Vest:

But count me wayyy out for the red/scarlet. I can give Nato 6 with ease, but giving Snyder's pinning history, against Nevills, is pretty difficult. Call it an 8 out of 10 on the Difficulty Scale. And individually:
1. Giving Moore three: 3 out of 10 Difficulty, sight unseen on him yet. I've read he's offensive, but Mouse's D is also tight. Hopefully will be fun either way
2. Giving BoJo three: eh, call it 4 out of 10 Difficulty. Hall is waayy better than we saw against Meyer. And BoJo is a shell of his once-bonusy self. I'm with Tikk in that if the score is rising, the scales lean toward Wreck.
3. Giving Pletch three: 5 out 10. Pie makes a decent point with the trap-game application, but Jimmy's between-the-ears game looks real strong, for 2wks now.
4. Giving Martin three: LOLOLOLOLOL 9.8 out of 10 Difficulty doing this. I left .2 difficulties in there for wiggle room b/c Bo DNGAF about most positions, but come on. There's one guy out there wrestling well enough to take Bo out, and this Kenny Courts gasser is not he.

Now, add em all up and give all 4 of those guys 3? GMAFB. No way in Hades, no matter how artsy the Schottenheimer Center is.

This one's shaping up like against Iowa. brutus'll get W's from NaTo & Snyder, and one other one. But not two other ones.

7-3 PSU Dominates.

(Srath, I love your work; this is an attack on brutus; not you, homie ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if it's close. But it is very difficult to imagine Snyder getting 6 against Nevills. The highest-ranked guy Snyder has ever pinned in a college match is Antonio Pelusi of F&M. In his matches against top 10 heavies last year and this year, he has three regular decisions (Gwiz, Coon and Walz) and two major decisions (Sasquatch and Dhesi). Snyder is awesome but (a) he's not a pinner and (b) Nevills is very good. I think Snyder probably wins by regular or major decision with the margin somewhere in the 6 to 10 point range. It would be fascinating to see his approach against Nevills if the dual meet reaches 285 with the tan fellers down by six.

Question about blackouts: advantage goes to the wrestlers who don't glow in the dark ... right?

Not sure why everyone is so sure Snyder will score bonus points. When is the last time he did that against a wrestler ranked in the top 5? I didn't check but I'm pretty sure the answer is never.

Dhesi and Hall his best majors according to wrestlestat. Dhasi finished 5th but I think that was a minor upset so probably outside of top 5 at the time.

Looks like Flo had Sasquatch at 4 at the time of that MD, so 11/19 seems to be the answer

Jimmy over Pletcher seems to be the surest thing since Carton over Jimmy on the HR.

No problem. I agree with your %'s, except Martin. If TT wanted to be JRob-like, they could make it very interesting. We know Cael has a different vision

Plenty of WHITE will be there. Surely we'll be way outnumbered, though we do travel well and are getting the word out.

PSU'ers wear WHITE.

Anyone care to take a stab at this question:. If Jimmy and Pletcher wrestle about as well as they each did in their last match, the score in their matchup will be?

My very uneducated guess/answer is Jimmy 9-5.

Heh. No. Wrongly thought its funniness was apparent.

There was always the possibility that you put nasty memories in cold storage, never to be retrieved again. For the record, though, I interpreted it as you had hoped.

Heh, thanks. I've not successfully repressed that, no. I felt terrible for Bo after the NCAAs given his history against Martin. I was at the event following in Madison Square Garden and got to shake his hand and say a few words, and couldn't have been more impressed with him for standing there and greeting everyone. Safe to say he probably didn't want to be there, and no one would've blamed him if he just laid low. Never going to count him out.

If anyone wants to watch the dual with us, we will be at Dugan's Pub in Luzerne.

Moore is the real deal. Damn near beat Cox.

I think Moore might be an enigma. Yes, he did lose only 6-4 to what looked like a somewhat tired J"den Cox but he was also handled 15-7 by Brett Pharr who I've never seen gas!

I"m not about to give either a win here......hoping Matt shows everyone what he can do healthy even if it's up a weight!

Mostly correct Chief, but Ryan will have his track shoes on if he goes and run like hell for seven minutes. Apologies to Pink Floyd.

Edit: Just found out Ryan has ALREADY ran out of the gym. Not even going, lmao.

If Bojo is still recovering from an injury, then why is he going? I'll believe it when he takes the mat. Get ready for the "but Bojo was injured" line, if Hall beats him.

And Hall is ready to beat him.

I actually might be in Clarion on Friday night, and if so, I might just check in to George's for a clean close shave and a hair cut, match on George's big screen?

Thought it funny that Rowlands calmly declared Nolf with just a major over Ryan. Though Ryan is now not wrestling and it was a major last year, that was the most deceiving major ever.

Askren kind of laughed at him for that prediction

Rowlands may have had insider information about the tan strategy for that match.

Ryan is worse than he was last year. Nolf would have hauled it into the boat

Now that Tomo is at 33, I wonder what they will do next year with him. If they want to win a championship, they will need to look at a Pletcher-Ke-Shawn-Jordan combo from 41-57. They have Romero coming in, the Isaiah White dream for 165, so maybe he bumps up.

I have General Admission seats. Anyone with any insight on when I should try and arrive? Is 5:30 sufficient or should I aim for 5:00pm? Trying to figure out my travel details for when I should leave work and driving to Cbus.

Think Jordan goes up...at times looks lethargic even at 149. He was originally a 157 forecast IIRC

They also have Elijah Cleary tanshirting. Not sure how he's doing this year or if he could go 157 next year. If he's good enough, that could drive Pletcher to tanshirt next year.
