Football Ohio State defeats Penn State, 20-13

I don’t see any improvement with the offense play calling from last year. No matter who gets the job all we do is fool ourselves with trick plays

That made me laugh. I irony of fooling yourself with trick plays.....

Kemon Spell, soph RB commit from McKeesport, had 274 yds in a playoff game last night. Gotta keep recruiting highly ranked RB's and find someone that can make defenders miss in big games....
It is clear something is wrong with Nick. He is playing through injury. Even that TD against USC, he looked labored getting into EZ.

We need tricks because we have no WR
OSU is playing run all the way
Against good teams tricks don’t work

Yet he constantly says they self scout and try to find ways to improve. Interesting because the same issues are there every year.

OSU beats us with better players nearly across the board. They recruit better. They retained more starters through the off season. They played the portal better.

We are circled on the calendar. They don't sleepwalk vs us.

Good passing by Allar on that series. The only really open receiver in man-coverage was Wallace by coming back to Allar on a downfield hook pattern. That takes time, but it shows that we have to find a way to run away from their coverage.

I'd like to see some really short crossing patterns. Fake the run and make the LBs do the coverage. Maybe use #10 out of the backfield.

Yes, but not every game goes chalk. we are still a major program with a ton of nfl talent. ohio state out recruits michigan and nearly everybody and yet they still lose games

Then Martin or Smith should be playing. At least on the running calls. Singleton is a decent pass blocker.

Singleton does not look like an NFL RB. Maybe his receiving skills keep him in for a few years. I'm hoping PSU can line up with a couple more explosive RB's next season.

Looked like Carter got held pretty blatantly before he got loose and made the sack.

We all realize Carter made the sack--if Howard escapes maybe you see a flag but they haven't called holding on an OL yet today and likely won't in the pocket.

Singleton isn't a juke and make a tackler miss kind of runner. He's a straight ahead speed guy. He needs a lot of open space to break a big run. So, if he doesn't have his straight ahead speed, he's a below average RB.
