No surprise that the Bucks are favored but the degree to which they're favored, copied below, was a bit eye-opening when I saw it this afternoon.
Those numbers mean that you need to put $105 on Ohio State to win $100...while $100 on the other three teams in the field will win you $380...$400...$480 respectively. That's a significant betting spread.
It's ironic as hell given that only a few weeks ago, a bunch of Buckeye fans were demanding Ryan Day's scalp...and a few posting here claimed he was on the hot seat.
Personally, I said: A) it was ridiculous to think his job could be in jeopardy unless they laid a total egg...quit on the field...against Tennessee; and B) just the opposite was going to happen as the Michigan loss would motivate the hell out of them.
Granted, Ohio State is the most talented team left in the field...and now favored by 6.5 against Texas...but that doesn't mean they can't be beaten. In fact, if we were to get to play them on January 20, as I think will happen, the odds against us would likely be similar to those in our historic game against Miami on the evening of January 2, 1987...and you may recall how that turned out.
