The National Championship is with the engraver .....

The Hodge trophy has renewed its lease ......

and

I have to admit tonight I will be rooting for the NJ kid to get his title.

Not happy as a fan how it all went down, but he did at one time put on the blue and white. Part of his life's journey as document and constantly replayed by Flo is as a lion. So he is my guy tonight.

Here is who I like in the finals;

125 Spencer - A Pa boy on loan so the hawks program stays relevant
133 NJ kid
141 Yanni - Want somone other than Dake to be the face of Cornell wrestling
149 Ash -- but if MJo gets it that would be great too. Great wrestling family the Jordans
184 Dean - what a great story for a NCAA champ brother coaching his lil bro to NCAA Championship

I’m hoping Fix decks him. Suriano did not leave on good terms and that stupid documentary and his digs in the media made it seem like PSU did him wrong when he got injured. He and his helicopter Dad are better off in that little pond.

The only NJ kids I’ll be cheering for are Cassar and Ashnault.

I'll be pulling for Drew Foster from Norther Iowa. Doug Schwab has done a really good job and I'm hoping he gets his first national champion. I also am pulling for Suriano-Fix match to not be tentative and they let it fly.

Besides the Penn State kid ... I'll be pulling for

Jack Mueller ... I love an underdog, nothing against Spencer (who I am glad looks better) Who I think will win? Spencer ... even if he gets ridden for a while, Spencer. (and that's fine too)

Fix ... sorry, I am happy Suriano is happy but his need to make a documentary called Fearless Warrior about why Rutgers is better than Penn State and the fact he listens to himself talk before matches ... lol, give me Fix. Who I think will win? Suriano actually .... he is on a mission right now.

Yianni ... this kid is just magical. It's crazy to think if not for a 6 point move he gave up (after being up 6-3) to Eierman last year, he would be undefeated w/o a redshirt. Who I think will win? Yianni, no explanation needed.

Micah ... nothing against Ashnault but Micah walking over to Cael to shake hands after losing 16-0 to Nolf in a team race like last year will always stick out to me. The kid will lose and win with grace and class. Jeff Jordan raised his 3 sons to be classy men and I think he deserves to see one of them bring home the hardware. Who I think will win? Ashnault .... his top game vs Micah's bottom will be the difference.

Max Dean ... carry on the family tradition but also, he beat MyMar, he deserves to win this whole thing. Who I think will win? Max Dean but it's tossup with him maybe slightly favored. He looked mortal against Wilcke earlier.

So of the 5 I am rooting for, only 2 I think will actually win (and it's a tossup I think)

125-Spencer, The mono is gone it seems.
133-Fix, Only so Flo can't make content about S****** winning a title. Not that it will stop them from making content about his struggles in losing the title 2 years in a row.
141-Yianni, Like his style and it's against osu.
149-Micah, Schnaulty be Sobbin'. See above Flo. Also he's too cocky. Micah seems like a great kid and all of that trumps any anti-osu stuff.
184-Foster, Last night I wanted Dean but I changed my mind this morning. Either one winning would be enjoyable.

After deciding to root for the 5 PSU kids there isn't much left, but since you ask.
Yes I will be cheering for the New Jersey kid at 133. The PA kid at 125. The New Jersey kid at 141. The Ohio kid at 149. Dean is a good choice, but UNI matching the Hawks in champs (or surpassing) just somehow works for me.
