I looked for a thread and couldn't find one, but the U.S. Open is this weekend and there are several Nittany Lion WC guys wrestling this weekend out in Vegas. Up to the top 7 medalist from each weight will qualify for the Olympic Team Trials in April (held in Iowa City) and Dan Lobdell - who goes by the Wrestling Nomad on Twitter - gave his predictions for this weekend. Check it out in the link below. My count had four NWLC or PSU alums placing top 7.

It'll be interesting to see any permutation of Ed, DT, and Dake facing each other at 86kg. Lot of what-ifs asked over the years can find some resolution.

Yeah, bad news is that in my head when I wrote that I knew there was those five. It's just been that kind of week for me.

Anybody know where I can find a schedule for this? Is it a two or three day event? I have flo pro, but it is only showing men's freestyle for 48kg, 63kg and 69kg for tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

This means Ruth & DT will meet in the quarters, which should be real interesting. Dake will be in the other side of the bracket, so wouldn't meet either Ruth or DT until the finals. Doubt he gets through Gavin.

Yeah some weird scoring in the match, but I agree that DT looked better. Dake looking good too. Beats Gavin pretty easily.

I'm not well versed on the rules of freestyle but it looked like a horrible call against Ruth made it 7-0 DT instead of 4-4 or 4-2. I agree DT looked the better wrestler but the call made absolutely no sense.

I honestly didn't think Ruth looked good in any of his matches. His first opponent got to his legs pretty easily, but couldn't score.
