OT: Getting rid of coyotes

But you do see my point, no? There are a number of hunters that will say kill coyotes because they’re killing deer. Then turn around and say let me kill more deer because there’s too many deer. The best explanation just may be they like to shoot things.
Maybe they just like the taste of venison and don’t want to share with coyotes.

I was awoken by a group of howling coyote pups in the middle of the night. My property borders a farm and we are always seeing wildlife but this is a first. Has anyone here had to deal with them? I was hoping to gather some information before I go to the farm owner. I live in PA, should I contact the game commission?
Almost every town has coyotes aby they love your small pets. I have even seen foxes in Kansas City while jogging.

I have seen foxes numerous times over the past three summers on Spring Creek golf course in Hershey.
Foxes are every where in Northern Virginia. They are not a problem as they mostly eat small animals like mice and squirrels, plus they are mostly only out at night. I see them a lot mainly because I leave for work around 5 AM. There are supposedly coyotes in the DC area but I have yet to see one or hear about someone losing a pet, let alone a child.

We are seeing quite a few fishers at our cabin in Tioga County. I think they are hurting our Turkey populations, especially the young poults in the late spring and summer.
We had a lot of snow up there this winter and the coyotes probably had an easy time running on top of the snow and killing the deer. The deer were super spooky this spring.

If fishercats can climb a tree to kill a porcupine, I don’t see how they couldn’t climb a tree to kill a roosting turkey. That being said, I have a healthy population of both around. Neat animals, ferocious little bastards.

Don’t really know but I would think that turkeys would hear or feel them coming and just fly off. Unless they sleep in somewhat of a trance or are afraid to fly at night. Bigger problem may be fishers raiding nests for eggs.
