Really? We had socials with both of them. They were both top tier in the mid 80s.
Chi O's were HOT!
Tri-Delt's had their share as well.

I know who you mean, and forget her name. Never met her. Tommy Lape was from Lancaster and I played a lot of junior and amateur w/ and against him.Did you know the female playboy golfer, now or once a teaching pro in Lancaster?
Cool!

Nu chapter.
What year did you graduate. Mine was 1970
Agree, in 20 years of teaching, talking to my former students that come back or ones I stay in some form of contact with every year, it seems less and less talk about joining a fraternity/sorority. The only group I would say that it is still very strong in is the African American community, as almost every one of the former students I talk to has joined one.Greek system is in decline all over. Yet another “tradition” that younger generations don’t appear to be all too interested in.
Have another cold one.A lot of the geek problem is the kids themselves. They are leading the social justice warrior charge.
Just the way of goes in 2021
No. They're being pulled into the sjw scene. They don't have much of a choice. They don't set the terms.A lot of the geek problem is the kids themselves. They are leading the social justice warrior charge.

There she is. Didn't she play on the PSU girls team for a year or two? She wasn't built like the baby whales that were there when I was around. That's for sure.I know her and her husband the local meteorologist Eric Horst .
Do you know Craig ramsbottom of LCC?I know her and her husband the local meteorologist Eric Horst .
My old house comes w/ a double lot. Imagine how many condos they could build here!
Well then you and I are good friends.Had some good friends from Chi Phi.

University spies all over downtown looking for girls - GIRLS! - entering fraternity houses, then they call the cops alleging the frat is violating the Borough's COVID ordinance. Meanwhile, non-Greek apartment and house parties abound in State College. Fraternities can't get guys to live in their houses because in apartments they can have fun and party with little supervision. In the fraternity house, it needs to now be like a monastery. After over a hundred years, severe risk that there will be no fraternities at Penn State within a couple years. Sad.
Yep. He sure was. Good player. Good PGA professional.Yes
Terry Hertzog might have been on the PSU golf team the same time as you were .
I could write a book about those times. JVP was the AD and he wanted FB players to live w/ golf team guys in Hamilton thinking we would be a good influence on them. It worked in reverse, as the golf team was mostly a bunch of degenerates and the FB players were eager to follow along.Yeah great iron player .
BTW - I consider this the most beautiful house (fraternity or otherwise) in Centre County. Hands down. I'm biased though. And I know about the secret rooms. My old house comes w/ a double lot. Imagine how many condos they could build here!
This is about commercial real estate, not greek kids.
I should say that Beta and the old KDR are just as beautiful as Chi Phi, but smaller. As to Beta, yeah...create a scandal, back it up w/ some willing media, and well we know the rest of the story, huh?And location of Beta is prime, on campus real estate for PSU.
Chi O got the axe for making fun of Mexicans. Maybe they should have thought that one through.Even some once prominent sororities are gone. Chi Omega, Tri Delta to name a couple.

Did you know that Ronnie tried out for the Nittany Lion mascot position?
Story goes he finished 2nd to Norm Constantine back then.
2nd hand info told me "they" the judges were concerned about Ronnie's height or lack there of sir.
He did best all others I was told in the push-up competition.
Huh. I knew Norm pretty well. lived in Mifflin as a fresh and soph years.
A good guy who died far too young.
Chi O got the axe for making fun of Mexicans. Maybe they should have thought that one through.
I’m not expressing an opinion. I’m just reporting what happened. But it's OK for SNL to do so??

You never made fun of a Mexican? Liar.Chi O got the axe for making fun of Mexicans. Maybe they should have thought that one through.
Regardless, if you have indeed made fun of a Mexican, I think you should be cancelled. Your business, your friends - all of it should go away. Not tomorrow. Now. Today. You should have thought about your actions beforehand like you say the Chi Omegas should have.I am not condoning or criticizing their behavior. It was stupid of them to post photos of their party dressed as Mexicans talking about their lawn maintenance people. These types of things have consequences and Chi O apparently didn’t anticipate that the reaction would not be in their self interest as some people would view it as racist. Whatever jokes I’ve told in my lifetime is not relevant to this conversation.
Isn’t/Wasn’t AXS the fraternity for Chemistry majors?Cool!

I agree. All racist organizations, including where applicable fraternities and sororities, and those that defend them. should go away. We don’t need them or white supremacists in any form in a civilized society.Regardless, if you have indeed made fun of a Mexican, I think you should be cancelled.
