OT, SIAP. Houston Astros accused of using technology to steal signs.

who hates to see it? I saw him and wondered how he can show his face right now. And before anyone says that the pitchers weren't advantaged, it is a heck of a lot easier to pitch with a 3-0 lead than 0-0.

His last year with Detroit, he was 10-8 with a 3.8 ERA. With Houston, his ERA is a more than a full run per game lower (2.52 and 2.58)

This is like the Patriots cheating - the league wants it to go away and not take any real action like pulling a title otherwise everyone loses all confidence that it’s not fixed which of course it is to a certain extent. Ped’s - spygate and now this in MLB. Might as well go to the track where you know it’s fixed for sure at least.

The league is addressing it....I have a good friend who’s a MLB umpire and they are meeting next week to determine what action to take. They also realize there are going to be a lot of Astros players getting plunked this year.

If the little mvp steps foot into a batters box - even at spring training - this season, then they're not "addressing it" imo.

WaPost article today; the Nats catcher insists that he could tell that the Astros tried to continue the cheating during the World Series. (The Dodgers reached out and warned the Nats.) The Nats changed up their signals pretty much every inning.

They’re addressing it, but maybe not to the extent some people want.

Two things... First, how does stealing other teams signs effect his ERA? Second, he joined Houston in 2017 at the waiver deadline (8/31/17). He basically joined the team for one month before the playoffs. The 2017 cheating thing is on many people, JV is not one of them. Now, if they continued into 2018 and 2019 and he sat silent then yes, he is guilty by association.

MLB not only has an integrity problem with the Astros, but also with how they will deal with the head-to-head games played against playoff teams that might have lost a result of the Astro Advantage.

It will be interesting to see if/how MLB handles the understandable “plunked players” and the resulting bench-clearing brawls. That said, I’m not certain I want to be the opposing player on the receiving end of a Justin “I don’t give a crap” Verlander retaliatory fast ball.

Sorry. JV didn’t know what team members were pounding on a garbage can? I also don’t believe it stopped, they got caught red handed at a playoff game against the tribe and Trevor Bauer tales shoot what they were doing for years
