Growing up in state college I would almost say hammonds because my dads office was there but really it was old main.
as a kid, old main is a huge building standing tall on top of a hill and it defines Penn state.
another for me was my first trip to New York and seeing the sun glisten off of the twin towers. Amazing sight!

Was set to spend a couple of evenings there, on site.
Trip planned to Normandy France, pandemic changed trip plans
To experience the feel for Utah Beach.
Wife's dad landed there month after D Day..
She's working on his Army memoirs.
Hope to get to that neck of the woods over next couple of years.

Islam’s third holiest site after Mecca and Medina, the Dome of the Rock is built on top of the Temple Mount in the Old City.
I think this place is amazing for the idea and location. Question: if the home was NOT built over the waterfall would it still be "AS" iconic and famed?

Another one that nobody's mentioned is The Colosseum in Rome. Think of what went on there a couple of thousand years ago - just staggering. It's still the largest amphitheatre in the world despite its age.
