The wrestling team brought home gold with three wrestlers coming in first. In addition, a swimmer and fencer also won NCAA individual championships.

Did anybody see any of this mentioned by our good buddies on BTN?

I haven’t watched anything on the channel lately, but Penn State’s wrestling title is featured as one of the top stories currently on BTN’s website. Haven’t seen anything on swimming or fencing.

That said, three B1G teams also advanced to the Sweet Sixteen this weekend, and more than half of the conference was participating in the NCAA tournament. Considering the relative difference in popularity and interest between the two sports, it’s not entirely surprising that the Sweet Sixteen teams get higher billing. I think the same would be true if Ohio State or Iowa had won the wrestling team title.

I can understand higher billing, but not totally ignoring.

Did they totally ignore it? It’s currently the #4 story on BTN’s website, right behind the Sweet Sixteen, the hockey tournament selections, and some fluff piece promoting a BTN show about Illinois’ campus. That said, I admit that I don’t really watch their on-air programming so I could be totally off.

The only time I watch BTN is when they have a live sporting event I want to see. Rest of their programing is crap. Hate to say it, but the SEC Network does a much better filling dead air.

Speaking of dead air, btn could fill slots interviewing Sandy and barren.

The Beaver Stadium scoreboard was flashing Congratulations to the Wrestling team all weekend. However, I am disappointed that they did not also acknowledge the swimmer, Ally McHigh out of Little Flower High School in Philly, who is PSU's first ever NCAA Champion in Swimming, and they also did not acknowledge the fencer. I AM OUTRAGED. FIRE THE SCOREBOARD OPERATOR:D

So it is 4th behind freakin notre dame wining big ten hockey. Gotta love the big ten.
