PA HS Wrestling thread

Did Hutcherson just lose to an average PA kid from Eastern PA in the allstar match. He is good but not the next Thomas Haines or Chance Marsteller. What place did he get at Super 32

Back to Rothermel- look for him to bust through and get on top of the podium this year. No one in his weight is safe. Harer over Baum at 139.
Hutcherson did not lose to an average PA kid haha. He lost to Brian Heard who is committed to Univ of Pennsylvania or Lehigh, i cant remember which one. One of those two. Heard also finished 4th in AAA states last year and placed 6th at Super 32 this year. Heard majored Nick Singer from Faith Christian at Super 32. Also remember that Hutcherson is 15 years old wrestling 175lb which are grown ass men. Not a lower weight wrestling 9th and 10th graders. By saying what you said about Hutcherson makes you seem like you don't understand the sport of wrestling.

Rothermel is a stud!! He doesn't beat Harer though. I could see him beating Baum. Landon Sidun put it on Rothermel at Elite 8 Duals few months ago.

Rothermel will be at 121 when it all shakes out for the post season. I would bet on that but don't tell Brands that please lol.

How good is Nick Singer? He is an absolute killer. He was in that same bracket with Hutcherson and he did not place either. Actually I believe Hutcherson had a deeper run. If you check the history, you won't find a 9th grader that placed at Super 32 at 175, 184 and up. Just doesn't happen.

Heard is going to Penn. At states last year he beat Hogan 6-2, Saddrdinov 10-0, and Snyder 9-0. That's a good postseason run.

Yea Heard is a stud. Actually is one of the most underrated wrestlers in the state. I think he can push for a state title this year if Asher Cunningham is not at 174lb.

I stand to be wrong. I never really heard of Heard! I am admit then I am wrong. Who wins Hutcherson or Singer?
Yea it's all good. Heard actually does fly under the radar for some reason. I think that is a toss up match. It goes either way. Singer is very very good. He should finally be able to get in the Faith lineup this year. I'm guessing he will have to go up to 189 due to Waters at 174.

Singer pinned Iowa recruit Owen McMullen ...

He also lost to Henckel 4-1 and Myers 4-2. So he's already competitive with that level of opponent.

Gut tells me Hutcherson will be better someday but maybe not on Day 1.

Probably because he's from D2, which doesn't have the reputation of other parts of the state. But he won NE AAA Regionals over all of those D11 guys, so he should get his due.

Singer is tough. I wonder if he follows his older brother to Lehigh?

Waters probably going 189. Competed at 184 in his last college open and weighed >189 at Certs

Does anyone know what Faith lineup will be? I heard they think they will beat up Sem. Bold statement but dang are they good. They also added more firepower with little Bachman.

That’s just dropping everyone one weight from cert weight which probably won’t happen for their whole team. Stein was 152 all year.

If all healthy, I have McCort with 7 wins and 6 bonus points.

For Sem wouldn't it be
106 Young
113 Bachmann F
120 Bachmann J
126 Botero
132 Stein J or Raucich
138 Wagner M
144 Wagner S
150 Stein
157 Hontz
165 Weidemoyer
175 Singer N
190 Waters
215 Singer J
285 Effendian

This is what they are gearing up for and why they are setting up their weights this way. They're gonna take their shot to be the #1 in the country. Maybe half their matches will be with these weight classes. The postseason will be an afterthought for them this year.

I think Magro 52 and Miller 60 is more likely

That makes the most sense to me. Maybe Stein cuts his ass off to make 147 for PIAAs (Which would be a terrible decision IMO he was a skeleton at 154 last year) but I think having him at 150 for non-PIAA weights is most important for their national success.

What’s Sem lineup looking like
Willie has it at (My input in parentheses)
106: NR Stauffer
113: TBD (Filipos if he can make the weight)
120: #18 Reagan (If Filipos can't make 113 he could be used at 120 or 126)
126: #5 Desmond
132: #4 Botello
138: NR Fry/(NR Corbin can be anywhere from 126-138)
144: NR Dimen
150: HM Evanitsky (Freshman Fahey can be put in at 150/157 (maybe 144?)
157: #5 Bouzakis
165: NR Jack Chamberlain
175: NR Brian Chamberlain
190: TBD
215: #1 Correa
285: NR Palian

Looking at in from my POV I think that 106 is a toss-up, FCA will expect to win 113-120, 126 is a toss-up (Botero is 2-0 against Desmond from what I can find), At 132 FCA is weak, I could see a backup (Corbin) coming in at that weight and Botello going 138 to beat Wagner (Though they might think Fry is a better matchup tbd), 138 and 144 are Toss Ups, 150 is probably a toss-up, Sem is favored at 157, Faith is favored at 165, 175, 190 and HWT. Sem has Correa at 215.
I think Faith wins this dual as they are the rankings favorite at 8 weights, but Sem can always make magic happen and if they have a good lineup move or win all the toss-ups they could easily take it

I see FCA winning against Sem! FCA vs Mcort would be very close. FCA should be #1 in the country. When is the last time Pa had the #1 ranked team in the country

Just glad FCA and McCort stayed down in AA. Between those two teams alone they gonna account for over half the champions in the PIAA Championships. Might as well just give them a free pass to the team championships finals too. Yeah yeah I know other teams recruit also, but this is an absolute joke. Two super teams assembled from top to bottom, and ranked as two of the best teams in the whole country wrestling in AA. Just a joke. I feel bad for the kids at public schools who don’t have the array of world class talent and resources in a room to train with daily.

Sem seems a bit down from the past couple years. Losing a guy like Lilledahl hurts obviously but usually they just reload. They still have some big time hammers but top to bottom it looks like they don’t match up well against McCort or FCA
