I agree. The issue PSU needs to deal with now is to determine what exactly they want at the end of any renovation.

If they feel it’s not worth the massive investment then plan for minor fixes- bathrooms, concession stands, locker room facilities, etc and be done with it.

If PSU wants to go all in then they are going to need big donors like Pegula to really step up. They could try the Florida State trick of adding classroom space in the new facade to get state funding for the upgrade. I’m not sure that would fly with the PA legislature.

Florida State-

The last upgrade to Doak Campbell cost a whopping $85mm. To put that into perspective, renovations to Lasch are budgeted at $70mm.

The most expensive college football reconstruction project was $485mm for Kyle Field at aTm. Less than 25% of that was put up by major donors. The rest is a combination of seat license and student fees and state and municipal funding. The contributions of latter two don't amount to much in the overall picture, iirc.

Barbour is going to get very creative to get Beaver Stadium done. I would add a note of caution: just remember the last time Babrour got creative.
