Penn State NIL news

Definitely a problem. But wouldn't mind seeing them kick the shit out of Saban a few years before it's fixed. He wasn't whining last year when strategically dropping the fact that his freshman QB was already a millionaire.
A&M needs to fail spectacularly at this. Them beating Alabama will escalate the problem, to the point there can be no fix.

Somebody non-SEC beats Alabama, sure.

Below article is what's wrong with NIL. It is going to help the athlete but ruin the fair aspect of college sports. I'm not nieve and do realize that backsided perks and money has been part of recruitment for years. The addition of NILs allows the situation to manifest. The tiger is out of the cage.

When I read that article, it just reminds me how Nick Saban is utterly and completely full of shit.

I get your point............I'd expect A&M to more closely resemble our (wrestling) friends next door as recruiting National Champs....................But Saban whining about such things is the height of absurdity.

Probably drop down to pine creek Saturday, have the wife try some nymph fishing.
My parents have been killing it this week up in the Gaines area.

Well be floating the canyon Saturday from darling run to tiadaghton.

If you see some dudes and kids in kayaks that you would classify as yahoo's say hello.

Easy cheesy……….

At least we HAVE won. A&M doesn’t have anything to hang their hat on.

Now I’m getting into nymph fishing, which is fun

We crushed it on our float trip. Everyone limited out.

My son caught a 22" rainbow on a gold feebe spinner. I caught a real pretty 16" brown

Black flies were awful. Drew blood w their bites
Had a canoe trip where I had to find a muddy bank to cake it all over to escape the deer flies. The ones that found me inside the tent at night were sumerily dealt with slow extreme prejudice.

Hate to be "that guy" but it was clear Desanto was hurt thanks to Jefe's gif. He had a leg and totally bailed on it without trying to grip it. Something was clearly up...

Been debating ever posting this but need a pick me up after a particularly bad couple of days at work.

My oldest offspring will soon be donning a blue and white uniform as a varsity athlete at Penn State - University Park. Fulfilling a life long dream of competing for PSU. Graduating senior / to be freshman. Preferred walk-on in the sport. (Trying to stay somewhat anonymous, mostly out of concern of embarrassing my oldest child with my previous and future posts).

I could write a volume about choosing to walk-on at one’s “dream school” over accepting scholarship money at lesser schools. We’re not rich; the money would have helped. It wasn’t a consideration.

And I decided what better way to visit 7x a year than to buy football season tix! (Already was and still am on the wait list for wrestling.)
Congrats man, that is awesome and certainly something to be very proud of….son and parents both!!

Rewatch the whole sequence. He had RBY's leg in a single. RBY changed levels and made him lose the grip, RBY was way too quick to the cradle before ADS was able to relock his hand.

Congrats! But he chose Penn State, so what would you know about choosing his Dream School?

Congrats to you and your son! FWIW , what’s the point in having kids if you can’t embarrass them?;)

RBY strikes me as being a really sharp guy. Maybe he'll give the MMA route a try, but I could see him owning and running a profitable business at some point in his career.

I don't see him doing FS at all, really. He knows he has a bright MMA future if he focuses on it.
He has said his immediate plans after school is NLWC and Freestyle, but mma is his long term goal. With ATT here, I could see him doing both for a while—though not for more than until the next olympics. I hope so. The defending reigning world silver medalist has never beaten him.

RBY is at 133 which is a tweewer weight for the Olympics. I can see him doing freestyle in 2023 and then switching to MMA.

In that new Fanco Interview, he mentioned freestyle "until 2024" and then, left things open, saying that MMA is the plan now, but plans can change. I have no idea what weight he'd try for in an Olympic year though.
