predicts as many as 3 players could transfer after this 2017 season and that multiple players may not return for final year of eligibility. Would not name names.

Also said we could end up with best recruiting class since 1991.

This is a good thing. As each recruiting class improves the quality at each position, some players who realize they won't get playing time will leave for places like Delaware. No hard feelings. You get better or worse....you don't stay the same. JF is bringing in talent to make PSU better.

FYI - Lots of good recruiting and team details from Phil's Radio show are now posted in the 2018 recruiting class thread..

;)

Not responding directly to you, but I remember some posters saying how other programs weed players out of the program and that is bad. I don't know if that is the case at PSU, but sure a lot of those people will now say it is good thing too.

I think there is a difference when players see for themselves that they can't compete. I love Akeel Lynch....no one forced him out. He understood that he wasn't going to beat out SB.

Are some players on the hot seat?

Best case scenario is these are seniors that get their degree but are somewhat buried on depth chart and just want a chance to play. I think there are some older players that committed before sanctions were dropped and probably foresaw different roles, but the way recruiting is going the wealth of depth in talent here is still in underclass.

I'll guess that Zembeic will transfer. He could very easily get so buried on the depth chart that it would take a long time for him to see any considerable PT. Plus, with them bringing in talented guys behind him, he may never see the field beyond mop up duty.

Not that he's not talented enough...just might get stuck and see an opportunity to play somewhere else.

It's the nature of the business. More so than ever these days

I could see maybe a QB opting out, possibly a WR and maybe some OL that are being passed by, which is crazy in and of itself to think where we were just 2 years ago in regards to the OL.

I think there is a big difference between "overrecruiting" and players not developing as expected or better players simply choosing to play at PSU.
