The Nationals have the best starting pitcher in baseball and Harper is having a year that, if he keeps it up, will be talked about for decades. Yet, yes, Dave is spot on, one of the most frustrating seasons I can ever recall. If you followed the Nats this year, you would be used to this kind of thing. They play like one of the worst teams in the NL for a few weeks, then play like one the best for a few weeks. The Bucs will be fine.
The Nats have been rocked by injuries. Not the case with the Bucs. The Nationals have the best starting pitcher in baseball and Harper is having a year that, if he keeps it up, will be talked about for decades. Yet, yes, Dave is spot on, one of the most frustrating seasons I can ever recall.
I hate to keep bringing up the SF Giants of last year.......well, OK, I don't because their record gives me hope. Between June 9th and June 20th last year they lost 9 of 10 games, including the last 6 in a row. Between June 9th and July 8th, they were 7-20. Between July 24th and 29th they lost another 6 in a row, and between August 7th and 12th they lost 5 in a row, yet they were a Wild Card team and won the World Series. Baseball is a long, long season. I have absolutely no doubt the Bucs will make the playoffs (OK, just a tiny bit of doubt) and then, if you get hot, you can win it all. I know, I know, it won't happen with the Bucs because....well, because they're the Pirates. Not true. Well, it is true, they are the Pirates, but you know what I mean. Have no fear...this is the year! I just made that up. It's good. Damn good. I may put it on some shirts. I'm rambling. Time to get another beer.5-0 in first. Pirates don't have the offense to overcome that. Eight game win streak was nothing more than a mirage.
