According to the local fishwrap here, Narduzzi and coaches chose two "captains" to choose up sides a la your basic kids playground game, thus explaining why things were so messed-up, playerwise. The two teams as chosen were so uneven that a trade of players was made between the teams just so that each team had at least a modicum skill level. Supposedly they do this style of team-choosing to reward the players for all the hard work that was put in. To me it seems more like a waste of a limited practice time, but then Narduzzi probably has a good idea of what he does and doesn't have for a team.

Did they schedule the game easter weekend just to have a built in excuse for only a dozen people showing up? No wonder they just didn't play one a few years ago or went to high school stadiums. I think that teams can't host recruits unless they play at their home stadium but this looks so embarassing it could not have been worth hosting at Heinz Field since hardly any recruits even showed up.

Pitt barely beat Penn State last year because of the sanctions...and Pitt had an unusually high number of talented upperclassmen...it's really that simple. The game should be a blow out this year...Penn State is loaded...and Pitt lost nearly all of its talent with little to fill in.

Half the people that were there just showed up to see what good seats in Heinz Field are like without having to pay the $6 on stub hub for Pitt seats at the 50 yard line. And I'm not joking about that.

QH is a consensus All American
NOPE, Barkley was the sole Penn State Consensus All American just named but not on First or Second Teams, with Pitt's Dorian Johnson and Ejuan Price on Teams.
However, Pitt's Henderson was an "UNANIMOUS CONSENSUS ALL AMERICAN" on the First Team and that is far Bigger and Rare Honor! WVU had 2 Consensus All Americans too. But only Pitt had an Unanimous Consensus All American and leads both Programs with more than them.
I know you love PITT and want to make sure everyone knows that PITT is in the Top Ten with UNANIMOUS CONSENSUS ALL AMERICANS than PSU & WVU and what Henderson earned surpass Barkley as well as Johnson and Price being named to Teams, unlike Barkley.
Henderson was also just a Sophomore and 3 Star Recruit and actually out gained Barkley in All Purpose Yards! Like DC posted he is better! I was being kind not mentioning it!
