Pittsburgh blog is about to make you blow a gasket (selling "Joe Knew" shirts)

I already stated how in an earlier post and I'm not going to out the person who brought it to the public's attention on the 19th of August if they don't want it made public here and are not a member. the shirts were already up on a seller website, the Newark Pitt guy just hadn't put out his own "advertising" blast yet. The evidence of our interaction is publicly available for those who demand to know...
It was an outstanding take down. That is all that anybody really needs to know.

I believe he was willing to take the heat of wearing one, like plenty of other people, in real life.

What you're advocating is exactly what you and the majority of the board denounce on a daily basis, mob justice. You don't like what he did so it's ok that he gets threatened by angry fans.

And what happens if one of them makes good? That's ok too, because he put two words together on a shirt? Grow up.

You are obviously a dumb human being. Very dumb. Just please do yourself and all of us a favor and STFU already.

I agree. I'm not saying I did it all by myself, that would be ridiculous. I'm just stating when it started and why, as opposed to the ridiculous accounts proffered yesterday by sports writers , sports bloggers, including their tweets, continuing their "football fan" meme. There was even one Pitt sports blogger who claimed on his twitter timeline it was "Pitt fans" that handled it. smh.

I like the usual backsliding by PiT. they've been clamoring to play "UPS" for months and years, and now that they've been made to look stuPiT again they said scheduling "UPS" should never have been done.

These are the dumbest people on the face of the earth, because they are supposed to be educated. Instead, they are imbeciles, and their ignorance is inexcusable.

Penn State and Pittsburgh are renewing their in-state football rivalry on Sept 10 at Heinz Field, and a Pittsburgh blog is selling T-shirts referencing the Jerry Sandusky scandal leading up to the game.

The blog - thepoint412.com - hasn't posted new content to its site since early June, but it sent out a tweet on Wednesday morning saying it was selling a shirt in Penn State colors for $20 that simply reads, "JOE KNEW."

You can see the shirt in the tweet below.

How's this for a counter: spend your $20 and buy the shirt. Then find the nearest place of business that can do printing on t shirts (I don't know what else to call it) and either below "Joe knew" or on the back print "Enough not to schedule a team with delusional, illiterate morons for fans" or something to that effect if someone thinks of something more clever. It would cost a little more to do that, but think of the angst we could throw back at those irresponsible bastards.

I'm dumb, but you're advocating real life harassment of a persons life over a t-shirt you don't like.

And why would there be violence if they wear them? Because grown adults can't deal with a tasteless shirt? Grow up and reevaluate your priorities. Although something tells me you're last person taking a swing at anyone.

Ok, this is ridiculous. EVERYONE, call AND write Amazon and tell them if they don't take it down you'll no longer purchase anything from them EVER.
Here's the applicable rule. Also applies to ebay where I've heard but not confirmed there is another instance:

Might want to forward to Sandy and the Pitt AD. Not that the stupid T shirt is a big deal (it just shows them to be classless more than anything) but maybe to spark them on to increase security at the stadium and prevent anything worse happening at the game. The immature Yinzer crew appears to be out in full force already. (Hell, the Paterno lawyers may like to see it too for their 'discussions' with the NCAA and Freeh).

What about the adult that can't deal with reality that Paterno did exactly what he was supposed to do, and made the tasteless shirt? Because he can't deal with the fact that Paterno owned his team and did it the right way, he makes fun of child abuse, and further enables it by trying to shine the spotlight on Paterno instead of the professionals that actually failed those kids. The fact that you are trying to stand up for him tells me you need to grow up and reevaluate your priorities.

The shirt would be factual then wouldn't it? "Joe knew" doesn't necessarily mean that what he did was wrong.

Joe Knew what? That Mike gave him some half-assed tale?

The shirt never specified what Joe knew. Was it that he knew exactly what happened? No. Was it that he knew it was something of a sexual nature? Yes, per Paterno himself. Either way, I wouldn't get so worked up over it. I'm not sure why someone would want to waste $20 on a shirt using pedophilia to mock another fanbase, but whatever.

BS.

You trolls keep leaving out "I don't know what you'd call it"

Get thee hence with the clowns on TOS and PL.

And why do you bother posting on this board anyway? Is it to convince some of us that Joe was not perfect. News flash, nobody is perfect, neither was Joe, and everyone here already knows that! Tell you what, I'll admit Joe was not perfect if you admit he was the greatest football coach of all time, and a great man. Otherwise, get lost.

We already went over this. He knew that what MM told him was inappropriate and sexual, but he didn't know the full details of it. It's not hard to understand.

He wasn't the greatest coach of all time, but he was top 5 for results. He was #1 for caring about his players' education. Great man? There were better and there were worse. He did great things and he was also difficult at times. I personally don't care about him one way or the other.

What I do care about is how this whole thing affects Penn State. IMO, people from both sides are misplacing their anger. Paterno doesn't deserve a lot of the blame that the public puts on him, but some here should be able to take a step back and admit that he could have handled this Sandusky thing better (not saying what he did was wrong, just that he could have handled it better).

If he knew back then what we all know now (you know, the benefit of hindsight) I'm sure he would have done a lot of things differently. The problem with trying to judge what he did then is using what we know now to make that judgement.

MM is a discredited witness. MM said a lot of things to a lot of people including three different stories to his own father, family doctor and Joe. The three men he trusted most in his life. How do you explain that? You don't. Discredited is discredited, it means it doesn't count. If all that was standing between Lee Harvey Oswald and the electric chair was a MM testimony, Lee Harvey Oswald would have walked. Like I said, get lost. You're making me disprove a falsehood, something I have neither the patience nor willingness to do.

He knew that something inappropriate occurred between a man and a boy in a shower. That needs to be looked at by the police. He should have instructed MM to go to police along with informing Curley. If he did that, we wouldn't be in this mess now (or it would have been a much smaller disaster). And maybe a few kids wouldn't have been molested.

How do you know it is a falsehood? That is your assumption. The only thing clear (again per the sworn testimony of both Paterno and MM) is that MM told Paterno that he witnessed something inappropriate and of a sexual nature.

I think they know already they have an issue that needs to be handled.

No, he didn't you insist on making trash up. Not in 2001, not ever.

Leave off the part after "and", and you would be being completely honest.
