No it doesn't. Football isn't that difficult. To suggest as much is the true folly. The bigger problem here is that on a message board designed for discourse (from admitted amateurs), you and others try to play this pathetic card. Guess what? Doesn't take a genius - or $5mm a year football coach - to try something different when the same thing isn't working.
I'm hardly impressive, but I think you probably had to spend your entire life in sports to apply the ideas you did to those who coach and those who criticize. It's a freaking game, there are much higher stakes out there.
Really? Try something different? Now there is a real game plan. You are right about one thing....your thoughts don't require genius.

He's retreating to where all those go who can't defend an argument. Sad.
Worse is he thinks anyone who disagrees with him doesn't love and appreciate Franklin and this team. Microcosm of what is wrong with this country.
Again, I'm nobody great, and I'm fine with that. Midnighter is much more impressive than I, having served our country abroad. But it doesnt take much to have carried more weight on your shoulders than someone coaching a game.
What if Trace takes the ball on the first play in the redzone and actually scores the TD. I mean, would that have really been that surprising if it had happened? Would the coaches suddenly have been genius or "playing to win" if a perfectly reasonable playcall had succeeded?
I will continue to support Franklin and I am confident that during 5 or 6 hours of sleep every night, he forgets more about football than you will ever know. But don't let that keep you from being a resident expert.
Because I love Penn State and this is one of my interests. Am I only permitted to acknowledge the top 3 most important issues in the world after midnight?
Serving our country abroad is indeed a noble endeavor.However, it has absolutely nothing to do with a football game in Columbus yesterday.

Haha, I always enjoy this too. Like football is rocket surgery. I fully acknowledge that Franklin and every member of his stafff knows significantly more than me about the game. But it's also hilarious when people act like it takes a Mensa membership to understand the insane intracasies of a cover 2.
Yeah, football coaches are just a bunch of glorified gym teachers. Its a job anyone can do. Go for it.

Yep, I get that, and I provided one. What makes it unsupported is that there was no reason to believe that was a question which needed answering.

we would not have 2 or 3 loses. We would have many less negative plays or zero yardage plays. Again, before he got here we did not have this talent. We now have the talent, and much of our success is due to that. Morehead gets way too much credit!
I appreciate your well wishes. I hope someday you accept that reasonable folks can discuss what led to a loss without assuming it means they're attacking anyone.
