They're both Nittany Lions and we love 'em equally, but who has the bigger year for PSU: Irvin Charles or Juwan Johnson?

Can't nobody read a question? :)

I've always expected JJ to be the next "top end" WR at PSU (after Godwin) - though the staff seems to be VERY HIGH on Charles.

But I'll go with the guy I've always been partial to and say JJ

I'm with you Barry. I'll go contrarian and say JJ.

After the Rose Bowl and Franklin's comments about how Irvin might be the most talented receiver he's been around, I would have said Charles.

But, this spring we've heard almost non-stop talk about how good Johnson has been, and not as much about Charles. I think Johnson has the inside track to win the starting job across from Blacknall right now - and I'll wager a guess that he'll be the team's touchdown leader this year.

I don't do polls or phone surveys.

A lot of it depends on if/who TMc "locks onto" a preferred receiver. I always like the young kid who "learned a lesson in the past"...,so I'm gong with Saeed Blacknall. The kid is gifted and experienced, but he should also. be "hungry" and a "rules follower"

Your honesty is refreshing. I wish you were an attorney so that you could answer F_R_TT on this one:

"It's Pennsylvania" is pretty concise. Still. I think he's looking for a verbal sparring session with a real attorney.

Hey, thanks for the heads up. I'm going to change my vote to Charles. Can't believe Barry is going with the herd. Not like him. :)
I try to go with what I figure is right :). Usually, if that's "contrarian" to the masses, no matter what the subject - it's a good sign .:)

That said, I liked that JJ kid since the first time I saw his HS clips - even though he was about 6th in the rotation this year.

For a real "contrarian" viewpoint, I think the kid from Cincinnati (Clifford) if he stays healthy, could be a multi-year starter at QB ....... and I don't think he was even the full-time QB for his HS team (though I think he might have been a little banged up)...... but that's another question for another day.

The Clifford kid looks like a player - period. He was injured, but came in when they needed him and pulled the fat out of the fryer.

You've been on Clifford since jump. I've agreed with you all along. Clifford looks like one of those QBs who just wins regardless (Trace).

Well, Saquon had 22 touchdowns last year, so I'll guess he'll again be the team touchdown leader, but if you were thinking about receivers, I hope you're right about Johnson scoring a bunch of TDs.

For comparison among receivers, last year Godwin had 11 TD catches and Gesicki had 5. There were TEN players who had least one TD reception, so that speaks to JoMo's offense and Trace's execution.
