I’ve not seen this stated exactly, but some things I’ve read implied it. Maybe @Ryan Snyder/BWI Staff or @Nate Bauer/BWI Staff or someone else knows. When a player puts himself in the portal, is he definitely gone? I’ve read online (not here) that suggested that entering your name in the portal signaled your availability to talk to other schools and transfer, but implied that you could still stay at your school if other schools don’t show interest, or if you don’t like the schools that offer. Basically, as far as the NCAA is concerned, you hadn’t officially cut ties with the school you’re at. If so, how do you go about signing replacements if you don’t know if certain players are definitely gone?
