Powerade starts on Friday. Looking forward to following Asher Cunningham, Nate Desmond, and Sam Herring. I believe those are the only PSU incoming guys competing?

Correct. Seeds are here (opens PDF): LINK

Commits:
- Desmond: 1-seed at 127
- Herring: 2-seed at 139. Camden Baum got the 1 seed.
- Cunningham: 1-seed at 172. Tough weight -- he gets Marlow in the semis and Burton or Torres in the finals.

Being recruited:
- Jax Forrest: 1-seed at 133. If seeds hold, he'll get Tyler DeKraker in the semis.
- Bo Bassett: 1-seed at 145

Future potential recruits:
- 107: lots of guys
- 120: 1 Landon Sidun, 2 Paul Kelly
- 160: 3 Melvin Miller (behind Bouzakis and Perentin)

172lb bracket is stacked.

I'm curious to see a potential Herring vs Baum final.

Jax vs dekraker will be worth the price of admission. Would love to see that

I don’t see Jax and Dekraker even being a match. TF for Forest. Asher wins another Powerade title.
Bassett will do his thing and mow everyone down. I am trying to get to this one. Desmond should win too. Is Perry in it

I don't think Jax and Dekraker will be a match either. @smalls103 put a thing out today saying 152lb, 160lb, and 172lb brackets are bonkers! Excited to see if Willie does a preview.

Powerade and Escape the Rock are absolutely loaded this year. And a good deal of PSU interest.

Desmond and Asher are top seeds. The McCort crew is there. As is Norwin's Landon Sidun who is my new #1 in the country at 120 after winning Beast by beating Joey Bachmann.

160 is a really nice weight with Bouzakis, Perentin, and Melvin.

Semi's - Saturday at 11am
Finals - Saturday 330

Brackets will be on FloArena

Edit: sorry, didn't see existing thread 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Has Powerade always been this tough or does this year seem really loaded. Willie will you be there. I would like to meet you. I am trying to come down. I live in Central Pa

Asher will have to beat Burton

Asher fell off a cliff against Wirnsberger in the second period and gave up 2 tds and close to more in the third at KOM. Looked like a monster in the first period with 5 tds getting up 19-5 early 2nd.

Thanks for the info Willie the brain. You got any sleeper kids we should be following? What do you think the toughest bracket is? @smalls103

Wonder if he’s outgrowing 175

127 pounds R32: Kase Snyder (Muncy) over Nate Desmond (forfeit)

I'm not sure what happened to Nate. Kase Snyder was out on the mat & ready to go, but Nate didn't show up for the match. There were a couple people yelling, "Forfeit" & the ref called it. Snyder was pretty happy to get the win! A belated Christmas gift!

Update: Desmond has now been removed from the Flo Area brackets & Kase Snyder is listed with a Bye in the round of 32. It sounds like he pulled out before the event started, but nobody told the staff.

Update 2: The bracket has been updated again & Desmond is listed as losing by Forfeit in the round of 32 & losing by No Contest in the consolation bracket. Nate Desmond is out of the tournament.

127 pounds CONSY 2: Gino Juliani (Canon-McMillan) OVER Desmond (NC)

Some big names (Bouzakis, Maddox, Torres, etc.) scratched but Desmond isn't on the list, so who knows.

So Bo takes the mat - stops and looks into the camera, then proceeds to make hand gestures / finger gestures as he's walking onto the mat with the camera squarely on him ... can someone fill me in on what that means if he's done it before?

I heard Desmond got hurt in warm ups.

Tons of scratches due to injury I hear. Maddox Shaw banged up his knee last week. Mario Hutcherson medical FF out due to being sick. My buddy said he won his 1st match and ran off puking all over the place.

Jax Forrest making it look easy. Same with Asher!
