Lets kick this off.

Solid dual opponent with a few interesting matchups.

Curious to see if Jimmy finds his insane scoring ability vs an overmatched opponent. Another TF on the way ?

Curious, obviously, so see how Cenzo stands up to IMar.

Langenderfer has been on a roll for Illinois ... but that comes to a screeching halt.

Parker is good, but Bo is Bo.

Most curious to see how Hall & Nevills fare against Brunson & Black.

125 - Suriano MD Piotrowaski, 4-0
133 - Richards TF Carpenter, 4-5
141 - Jimmy G MD Jodah, 8-5
149 - ZPain WBF Irvin, 14-5
157 - Nolf TF Langenderfer, 19-5
165 - IMar DEC Cenzo (5-2), 19-8
175 - Hall DEC Brunson (8-3) 22-8
184 - Bo MD Parker, 26-8
197 - Mouse MD Lee, 30-8
HWT - Nevills DEC Black (6-3), 33-8

PSU 33-8

Rodriguez didn't stop Suriano at MD. I don't think Pio does better.
Bo back to pinning ways.

125 - Suriano TF Piotrowaski, 5-0
133 - Richards TF Carpenter, 5-5
141 - Jimmy G MD Jodah, 9-5
149 - ZPain WBF Irvin, 15-5
157 - Nolf TF Langenderfer, 20-5
165 - IMar DEC Cenzo (5-2), 20-8
175 - Hall DEC Brunson (8-3) 23-8
184 - Bo Fall Parker, 29-8

125 - Suriano vs Piotrowaski
133 - Richards vs Carpenter
141 - Jimmy G vs Jodah
149 - ZPain vs Barone
157 - Nolf vs Langenderfer
125 Piotrawaski - Best win a 10-0 MD vs Rodriguez (tOSU), who's been really struggling. Nothing else of consequence. Nick with at least a MD.

133 Richards - Real tough match-up for either of our guys. Not a pinner, only 1 this season, against a guy ranked 100+. Could be a TF for Illinois.

141 Jodah - Has a losing record, he's 1-5 in the B1G. Early scoring by Jimmy should earn a MD.

149 Barone - Ervin hasn't wrestled since 12/7/16. Barone has been the guy the last 8 duals. Should be a Fall for Zain against an over-matched opponent.

157 Langenderfer - On a 7 bout win streak, and has a great record, but has not wrestled any of the top guys. Best win was TB-1 vs Murphy (Mich). Tech Fall or Fall would be my guess.

165-285 Later...so far it's 19-5 or 20-5 the way I see it.

165 - IMar vs Cenzo
174 - Hall vs Brunson
184 - Bo vs Parker
197 - Mouse vs Lee
HWT - Nevills vs Black
165 Martinez - Only 3 decisions all season. Don't believe he gets a bonus point win vs Cenzo, going with an Illinois decision.

174 Brunson - Great record, and good benchmark bout for Hall. 5 losses on year, best win vs Meyer of Iowa 9-5. Going with a PSU decision.

184 Parker - Excellent record, though most are beating up guys outside, some way outside the top-20. Either a major or fall.

197 Lee - Losing record, including a mid-year 8 bout losing streak. 1-5 in the B1G. This is an opponent Matt should major.

285 Black - Beat Nevills 5-3 at the B1G Championships last year, ancient history though. No real good wins this year, but has a winning record. Decision for Nick, imo.

So the back half is 14-3 or 16-3 PSU. At least 33-8, final score...for the good guys.

Cenzo and Hall are definitely the guys to watch in this. IMar wins but I'm really interested to see how VJ looks against him. VJ already showed he an wrestle with I. Jordan.

Hall beats Brunson. What I want to see is Hall distancing himself from Brunson in the third and wrestling for the bonus.

Joesph pushes IMar, but not yet.

125 Nick is coming into his own and the major is his his. I want to see him breaking the kid into a tech. 5 - 0.

133 Richards with a tech. 5 - 5.

141 Jimmy should bonus this kid. If he wrestles to dominate the kid and gives him zero chance to catch his breath this should be a tech. 10 - 5

149 Zain with a fall. 16 - 5

157 Jason with an offensive blitzkrieg and a Tech. 21- 5.

165 I envision VJ pushing IMar harder than anyone since Jason and I expect at least one VJ TD. At the end of the match I imagine IMar prevails. 21 - 8.

174 What I am looking for is Mark wrestling in the third looking to completely dominate a high quality kid. This is a major, at least. 25 - 8.

184 Friday night, under the lights, at home Fall. 31 - 8.

197 Matt should dominate this kid. Fall 37 - 8.

Hwt Nick stepping away from Black. 40 - 3.

They are stepping towards their end of season peak, and they are becoming scary good.

And to see the amount of separation from other ranked heavys. Black was R12 at NCAAs last season and is currently ranked #15 by Intermat. Hoping to see a major here.

As much as I'd love to see Nick major Black, that's quite optimistic -- he'd have to significantly raise Black's pace. This looks like a 6-1 type win ... Pin might be more likely than MD, because I doubt the pace will support 4 takedowns, and heavies who get turned often stay turned.

Wow. Predicting 3 TFs and 3 WBFs against a solid Big Ten opponents with solid coaching. Plus a Hall MD against a solid upperclassman.

Our kids have the potential in them, but ALL of that is gonna be a tall order.

The reasoning is simple.
1. Friday night match so the staff will have their legs fresh. They will look fresher, more energetic and more brutal Friday against a tougher Illinois team than they will Sunday against a much more inferior Maryland.
2. They are stretching towards their peak.
3. Hall. First Rec Hall competition (NW ff doesn't count).

I could be overly optimistic, but I'm not.

And just so everybody understands the importance of the quarter. When my buddies and I play golf we generally play some sort of skins games. We will have anywhere from 3 to 8 of us and we play for quarters and bragging rights. If I win 1 more quarter than everybody else I am bragging.

Cenzo is going to beat Imar.....CROWD HAS TO GET BEHIND HIM....

I love Cenzo's upside but he is not beating IMar this time. Hopefully he learns from the experience and meets him later in the year.

The thing is, Cenzo has a shot here. It's not like he can't do this, he can. I've seen Imar wriggle and flop like a fish, out of a 4 count, at least 4 times in the past two years. One time, he didn't wriggle out of it. He wriggled out in the semi's last year at Nationals, wriggled out again against Jason in the finals, and he wriggled out of it against Valencia even, in that pin a few weeks ago. Maybe that's just what he does, true, but, at some point, he might not wriggle out.

I have a feeling that at some point, someone is going to catch Martinez and stick him when he tries to do that headstand escape from bottom. Maybe Cenzo is just the guy.

I'll bet you a five-mile run IMar doesn't need to wriggle off his back

My girlfriend does 7 mile runs, I'm more like a 5 minute run, then a Marlboro light, than a five mile run. I'll take another kind of bet though, haha.

Let's say lunges: 100 lbs dumbbell on each shoulder (200 total), 10 reps each leg, 20 reps total

In the midland finals Imar certainly looked beatable when he wrestled Chad Walsh, it was a good match and if I recall correctly Walsh had the merkle and was close to getting points just couldn't convert

Let's remember that IMar is the only guy to have bested Nolf. Twice. And Nolf is freakin' amazing.

Let's just imagine for a second that VJ scores a couple takedowns on IMar and seems to be wearing Martinez down -what do you think the over / under should be for how many times Perry wants to discuss something with official including challenges?

I am setting it as 2.5 and I am taking the over. I think he is out of the chair to stop the action and talk at least 3 times.
