I'll be posting PBP for each match in the dual.

please place all comments about matches, PBP, replies to comments, etc. in this thread.

The match is on BTN, and will start at 6 pm EST. If you are not by your TV but are a BTN subscriber, you should be able to get video of the match on BTN2GO.com

Ironhead's audio PBP can be streamed for free at:

http://www.gopsusports.com/collegesportslive/?media=542026

I never know whether the stream will include the pre-match stuff or not; feel free to check from about 5:40 onward.

We Are ...

- Ready to kick some butt
- Not surprised that tOSU will be setting a home attendance record when hosting PSU
- Excited to see the two wrestlers that battled for the 174 National Championship going against each other at a new weight class for each of them (new this season)
- Interested to see a match between a wily veteran, BoJo, and a true freshman with a load of talent, Wreck Hall
- Curious to see how two Western PA guys, Gulibon and Pletcher, do in their first matchup in college
- Of the belief that Nevills will not be intimidated in the toughest matchup he's had in college

... Penn State!

We have folks over for dinner and to watch the match. The one guy is a tO$U fan with sound arguments. Has me nervous and I just dont know why.

I may have to put the PSU v Iowa match on as background to calm my nerves.

Tan Tom sells out his arena, and to treat the fans he basically throws the towel in before they sing the Anthem.

Number one seed junior ducking a true freshman. Announced after Ryan got 11k into the barn. Plenty else to see but c'mon, at least if it's the same injury he was okay to wrestle Meyer, who already beat Jordan's scheduled opponent tonight. Disappointing.

Just for this, I hope Wreck Hall techs the backup, Jimmy wins, plenty of bonus and we hang 30+ on them.

Didn't Tom Ryan have a few things to say last week about Brands not sending out Clark against NATO? Something along the lines of "this is why we need to make duals matter"...

It's a cowardly move every time a coach does this nonsense. Ryan, Brands, all of them.

Suriano up 9-2 after two. Putting a hurt on Rodriguez who doesn't seem to have anything for Nick.

JR Johnson the main ref

125: Suriano vs. Jose Rodriguez

Per 1.
Suriano in on a leg, has Rodriguez dancing, and gets the TD, 2-0. Pretty much cuts him at 1:50, 2-1. 22 sec of RT. Rodriguez with a half-shot, blocked, and Nick tries to spin around, nothing. Nick with a semi-shot, blocked. 1 min left. Nick heavy on the head and spins behind for the TD with 40 sec. left, 4-1 Stoppage for blood on Suriano at 32 sec. RT at 27 sec for Nick. Spiral ride on the restart, Rod is up, and dancing on 1 leg, on the edge, and OOB with 1 sec. Blood on Rodriguez so another stoppage. Actually, appears they found blood on Rodriguez but it was Nick that was bleeding again. End. RT at 58 sec.

Per 2.
Nick takes bottom. Up and then back down, then out in 8 sec, 5-1. Rod semi shot, blocked. 1 min left. Suriano spins around behind for the TD, 7-1, then cuts him, 7-2, with 38 sec left. RT at 59 sec. Nick went for an ankle pick, nohting. In on a single and gets the TD with 4 sec left, 9-2. RT at 1:02. That was a sweet TD (a double leg)

Per 3.
Rodriguez takes bottom. Nick throws in an arm bar and is on the right, then cuts him at 1:47, 9-3. RT at 1:15. Suriano with an other quick TD, 11-3. He nearly cut him but then tried to tilt him. And he's getting swipes. 1 min left. 4 NF, 15-3. Nick cuts him, 15-4 iwth 40 sec left. Warning on Rodriguez. OOB at 27 sec. Stall point on Rodriguez for backing off the mat, 16-4. Quick TD off the whistle, 18-4. With RT, it's 19-4 TF

PSU - 5, tOSU - 0

That is the way to call stalling at the end. Nice job to double it up.

Nick looks like he had another few periods in him. Rodriguez not the same guy who opened up the season in Reno; but even that guy wasn't beating Suriano.

Feel bad for Carpenter, NaTo is a beast. I think he knows his job is to keep it to a TF though.

133: George Carpenter vs. NaTo

Tough match for Carpenter. He hasn't had many easy ones.

Per 1.
NaTo in early on a single, has Carpenter dancing, and gets the TD at 2:40, 0-2. Esc, 1-2. 2:30 left. NaTo in on a double for the TD, 1-4. OOB with 1:39. Neutral start, 2-4. NaTo in on a single and gets the TD, 2-6, and a quick cut, 3-6. Stall warning against Carpenter. OOB with 1 min left. NaTo in on another single for a TD, 3-8, and now he has him tilted and gets 2 NF, 3-10. Quick cut, 4-10, then a quick TD, 4-12. 2 swipes near the end, and 2 NF, 4-14. RT at 1:25 for NaTo.

Per 2.
NaTo defers, and Carpenter takes neutral. NaTo in on a double, blocked, then spins behind for the TD, 4-16. 1:30 left. A cut 5-16 with just over 1 min left. NaTo in on a single for the TD, 5-18. Near the edge, and Carpenter is to his base. NaTo trying to lock a cradle. End. RT at 2:40 for NaTo.

Per 3.
NaTo takes neutral, but then switches to taking top. 2 points will make it a TF. NaTo trying to tilt with a power half, nothing. Carpenter out, 6-18. Now NaTo in on a single for a TD, 6-20, then a cut, 7-20. NaTo in on a single for the TD and gets the TD at 6:01.

PSU - 5, tOSU - 5

Great job by Carpenter fending off that power half. Thought for sure he was going over there.
